Nerikomi Plate 0224
This unique plate was made with a pottery technique called Nerikomi that creates patterns using different colors of clay. Nerikomi is not a surface decoration, the patterns go through one surface to the other. This piece was created with two different kinds of stoneware clay, white and dark brown. It was fired in a gas kiln at cone 10 reduction. This piece is food, microwave and dishwasher safe, and the glaze does not contain lead. It can be used to keep food warm in an oven, if allowed to heat up gradually. But it is susceptible to thermal shock, and so cannot be used for stovetop cooking. Approximately, 5" x 5" x 1"
