Sashiko is a form of functional embroidery, traditionally developed and used in Japan during the Edo period (1603 - 1868) and is still practiced today. It was often used to strengthen clothing to make it even more durable. The designs are printed onto the fabric with washable ink. So once you have completed the stitching, toss it in the washing machine, and t
