Calm Black Water is a perfect blend of dark, bluesy, psychedelic doom, with riffs that could fracture the moon, and trance-inducing atmospheric grooves, which conjure an icy, pitch black cave at the bottom of the sea. The latter is created by lock-step bass and percussion, effects-laden guitar and keys, and chant vocals, a blissful combination.

A trip in the truest sense. Raw psychedelic wanderings punctuated with crushing heaviness and massive tone moments. So many bands try and so many bands fail to do this with true inspiration and character. Rezn solidifies their reign once more with their fourth effort.

Unfathomable Power, Palpable Atmosphere, and Delivered with the Heft and Fuzz of a Mammoth. A resonant, eerie and beautiful sound that surrounds the space with crushing depth. And best of all, it marks the start of a fantastic discography. Each album is a unique and cohesive piece of art from front to finish. I refuse to pick a favorite track, because it’s all so good!
