artistreader if all 'Metal' music was like this i'd be a fan of it ;-). Tungsten puts me in mind of a '90s FM radio program (for those who might remember that life before on-demand music) called Steps Ahead. it was a show that once tuned into, i could not turn off until its closing theme. this album is like that; compelling in its clever and understated way.

JLP What would metals sound like if they were somehow transmuted into music? Here is a possible answer to this strange question, and also a fine aid to creative visualization. Favorite track: Tungsten.

Alexander S. Kunz I admit I bought this for "Tungsten" alone - what a lovely track, an instant favorite! I have no doubt that the rest will grow on me, these two guys can't possibly disappoint. Favorite track: Tungsten.

about

United in a spirit of inquiry into head and ear-space, Lee Norris and Michael Gainford return with Metal.

Blending post-digital now-voyaging with a hefty hark-back, these sub-genre archaeologists draw on trajectories of early-mid '90s halcyon days and hybrids of IDM experimentalism and environmental space music.
