Deep and emotional, but still upbeat, danceable and feel-good. With catchy melodies, bright guitars, minor chords, and smooth mellow vocals in verses that soar through emotional choruses, the album was clearly influenced by some of the great British New Wave sounds; if you'd told me From a Kite was an unreleased The Cure single I wouldn't have been surprised at all.
Every successive album this artist releases sets a new bar. Building the Dream Machine is their best work yet.
