    by Rob Fetters
Another top-flight collection of intelligent pop music from a man with something to say even as it’s offered with a small and healthy dose of snark. I, for one, can relate to “Embarrassed” like nobody’s business. It’s honest, thoughtful, and moving in all the right ways.

    Night Shift Night Shift
You had me at Mary and Jacob Garchik, who’s another favorite. For a minute, I thought Mary was gonna play it (relatively)straight with her compositions. I should’ve known better. Mary remains a creative driving force for jazz’s next generation.

Is progressive pop a thing? Well, it is now!!! Just about every tune on this album is positively EPIC, with a glorious mix of pop, indie, prog, post-rock, and who-knows what else! Few bands have the courage to throw musical caution to the wind the way this band has. The end result is something glorious that can only truly be appreciated by repeated listens. Well done!!!
  19. elevator
    by Adrian Belew
Elevator has some of my favorite sounds since Op Zop To Wah. The arrangements are really tight, while Adrian shows his ability to write a pleasant, singable pop song backed with mild to moderate chaos taking place underneath. This is why I love Adrian. He pushes even when it seems like he’s soothing us. And his singing voice has never sounded better.
