  1. Out To Pasture
    by Arbor Labor Union
    Repunzel Repunzel
Just saw these guys open for Ryan Davis & the Roadhouse Band and bought this immediately. Weirdo stoner alt-country with detours into krautrock, post-punk, and Allman-esque jamming. So tight and really fun live. "Repunzel" sounds kind of like R.E.M. and Dino Jr. teaming up circa 1987, it's awesome.
  2. SCALD
    by Macy Rodman
Kim Novak (feat. Man on Man) Kim Novak (feat. Man on Man)
best pop album I've heard this year and it's not particularly close
  3. So Close to Heaven (Live at Troxy)
    by Los Campesinos!
The continued vitality and longevity of LC!, multiplied by the passionate devotion of their fans, highlighted by one of the best albums of their long career...it just doesn't get better.

  5. My Version Of Desire

My Version of Desire My Version of Desire
Man, this is so good. Timeless alt-country and power-pop songwriting a la Big Star delivered as an all-killer, no-filler rock record.

    Mucho Mistrust Mucho Mistrust
spiky, fun, love when they dial up the distortion, favorite album art in a long time! what's not to like?
  10. Hex
by DJ Sabrina The Teenage DJ
You('ll Always) Own My Heart You('ll Always) Own My Heart
ecstatic house/electro/dance music that becomes hypnotic with the sheer density of the sounds and samples layered, achieving a state of pure bliss over and over again. possibly her best yet?
  11. SORCS 80
    by OSEES
    BLIMP BLIMP
so fucking fun, from track 1 on. somehow equal parts Devo and Can, somehow inventive and brilliant and really stupid at the same time. can't wait to see how they do this stuff live.
  12. Sky Hundred
    by Parannoul
    Evoke Me Evoke Me
might be my favorite Parannoul release so far. it has the fuzz, the noise, and the glitchiness, as well as the soaring, emotive melodies and cathartic peaks. still can't believe he just drops these out of nowhere, what lovely surprise gifts they are.
  13. Wild Guess
    by Robber Robber
    Backup Plan Backup Plan
saw these guys open for Cola a couple weeks ago, found out they were about to release their debut album, made a mental note to check it out because their set was really cool. and now it's here and it rips. sometimes things just work out.

    redlight redlight
Emo at its rawest and most expansive, navigating complex feelings with passion, vulnerability and fury. This and the whaler are *the* emo records of 2023.
  16. Showing Up
    by Samantha Urbani
    Fine Lines Fine Lines
A long-awaited debut album from an immensely talented artist who synthesizes 80s and 90s pop, r&b and dance influences into something that sounds fully personal and remarkably assured. Bop after bop, a total triumph of a DIY pop record.

  18. Manic Tipsy Dream Hurl
    by cryspot
  19. Push
    by Sextile
    Crassy Mel Crassy Mel
this is one of the most instantly fun albums I've heard in I don't know how long. total rave-punk madness, as purely exhilarating as the techno and trance classics that clearly inspired it.
  20. The Leaves Of Autumn Symmetry
    by Perennial
    Dissolver Dissolver
An instant serotonin blast of a 7" EP. This band is so good and so fun and I can't wait to see what they do next!
