Pray For Fire Pray For Fire
Another masterful album. Cammie's vocals are of course the first thing people will point out, but Dobber's drumming is another highlight. His choices frequently defy expectation, as do Cammie's. In the discography of OoS, this album sits perfectly between Banished Heart and Starlight and Ash, making for an incredibly moving journey.
  4. Where Gods Fear To Speak

Where Gods Fear to Speak Where Gods Fear to Speak
An incredible, heartfelt, emotional and gripping album. As always, the musicianship and song writing are superb. Dobber's drumming is a highlight again, and Cammie's craft continues to evolve. Her addition of growls is unexpected but entirely natural. Another emotional tool in the box. Get this album!

    by Bloody Tyrant
A fantastic EP and companion to Hagakure I from a few years ago. The new vocalist, Kin is truly a force to be reckoned with, and you may know her from the band, Silent Hell and their album, "Drama". Her dynamism and range are the perfect addition to BT's already diverse and exciting sound.

  14. The Highest Level
    by Defiled
Another solid death metal album from this band. The music still has that fast and loose feeling of prior albums, but the production and composition is tighter. The band effortlessly infuses its old-school death metal violence and brutality with a refreshing punkish aggression.

When I'm listening to this album I think about how I would describe the sound. I imagine an incomprehensible creature slowly emerging from a dank and grimy subterranean tunnel, its dull claws slipping on wet stone, its lethargic weight crunching the grit of the tunnel floor. A crushing and horrifying force emerging from the darkness unrelenting. At least, that's how I feel about the album. ;) I highly recommend it.
  17. Survival Of The Sickest
    by Bloodbath
    Zombie Inferno Zombie Inferno
Another headbanging album from this band. As is BB's style, it is a masterful hommage to European death metal of the past, but it is also fresh and interesting. It doesn't re-invent the wheel, but that's not what it's here for. The only thing this album wants you do is throw horns and headbang!
  18. The Endless
    by DREADNOUGHT
All I can say is "wow". This album exceded all of my expectations. It is incredibly diverse and unaffraid to challenge expectations. The band has progressed in terms of musical and thematic sophistication with every release. But what is so incredibly striking, haunting and beautiful about this music is how natural it flows over and through you. Turn off the lights, put on your studio headphones, close your eyes and journey with it.
  19. Blackbraid I
    by Blackbraid
This is a very sophisticated, powerful and emotive debut. It will pummel you just as heavily with its themes and moods as with its saw-toothed guitars, snarling vocals and blasting percussion. And to its strength, it also takes the time for quiet reflection, as we all should when confronted by the sheer majesty of nature and the universe ... and of this album.
