In GDGA1, we follow Vektroid, along with the elusive 'Ray Sherman' to her Seattle roots in the form of an intense confrontation; one carried via harsh noise, collapsing algorithms, and the occasional ethereal synths that put its listener on another plane of reality. And through the obscuring distortion, we catch faint glimpses of her past; the Vektroid only a few had the privilege of listening to before she became the superstar we know her of today. A masterclass of the noise genre. 9/10
The soundtrack to my September of 2024: Just started high school, got a huge crush on some guy, and took a trip to my tío's place for a weekend where if I wasn't doing something that guy and I were texting back and forth for hours lol. This album is so unbelievably beautiful and melancholic, probably in my top 20 or 10. Thanks Phil. I love my vinyl copy of this <33
