These two albums set the tone for Luxury Elite and their future works. They have a "dated" sound that's captivating yet simple. The superb sampling, although simple, still holds up in 2025. Highly recommend the first half of this (1-13) if someone asked where to start with Late Night Lofi.

    sad memory sad memory
It's jazzy, classy, and so very relaxing. I can imagine myself in a penthouse looking over the city reminiscing, drinking, doing whatever fits the tone of this album. This is for the city that never sleeps. Some of the best obscure jazz is sampled here.

    trading center trading center
Vcr-Classique will always be one of my favorite artists in the Vaporwave scene. They deliver again and again without failing to capture the essence of a late-night stroll through the city. 'Trading Center' and 'Pink Panther (Bonus)' are the best cuts from Soft Nostalgic.

I was highly unaware of this release until today. Man, this is among one of the greatest soulwave albums to date. I’m familiar with both Takeyouthere and Pomidori, but together? Not expected. Superb sampling; from a Yolanda Adams sample to Ricca, I heard hit after hit.

    SENZA–CAFFEINE SENZA–CAFFEINE
Vcr-Classique by far is one of my favorite Vaporwave artists in the game. They can take the typical norm of Vaporwave and completely change it.

This was one of the first Vaporwave albums I listened to and I completely fell in love with it. Set the tone for my own work.

    JACKSONVILLE CITYSCAPE JACKSONVILLE CITYSCAPE
Can't choose between 'JACKSONVILLE CITYSCAPE' or 'FALL IN TALLAHASSEE' as my favorite from this album. A bit of an outlier in Vcr's works as this takes a less jazzy tone and a more Funk / R&B one, that may be why I enjoy it so much.

    WICKED THINGS WICKED THINGS
The same charm Lux showcases in their other albums is carried over wonderfully into both 1-800-TONIGHT releases. Tracks such as 'DEEPER TROUBLE' and 'CRAZY PARADISE' make me feel like I'm on hold for a sleazy, sexy hotline.

Glad to see more from LE!

  12. GIRL'S GOT GAME! (w/ OSCAR ROADS)
    by THAT’S MATT!
Not sure how I completely missed this release? Anyway, WOW. This feels like a new era of Matt, a bit of the old and new. I like to think of this as the UK Garage of Future Funk, I definitely see some correlation.

I had the pleasure of listening to a few of Oscar Roads' tracks so I can get a better idea of their style and I think (and know) this pairing was absolutely perfect, might I say magical.

    CLASSIC DESIGN CLASSIC DESIGN
Some of A.V.'s best grooves. 'PALMS ROAD' and 'TEN' are genuinely some of the best sample flips I've heard in quite some time. Definitely an album to have on repeat.

"VHS Pop but let's make it house," is what I can only assume 'lacolette' styled as l a c o l e t t e, thought of when putting this arrangement together. Funky, fun, and fascinating release.

A different approach on VHS Pop, but one I cannot seem to get enough of! The beautifully chopped samples mixed with some more unconventional drums you wouldn't hear anywhere make 'generationloss' shine.

Although repetitive at times but jams like 'someone' and 'commonground ft. COMPAQ-QUEST' prove that loops of sounds in different arrangements can be so creative.

    by easeyamind
    slipspace slipspace
Some of the smoothest Soul and R&B loops I've heard within the sampling community. With truly a beautiful selection of samples, 'Forever Chasing Peace' delivers a sense of peace the title refers to.

  17. THE LONE RAGER
    by THAT'S MATT!
    FAVORITE MISTAKE FAVORITE MISTAKE
The only possible soundtrack for a futuristic spaghetti western with cowboys who holster keyboards as weapons.

'THE LONE RANGER' doesn't miss at all, and Matt never does, so this was as expected. Absolutely stellar work.

The samples range so far within this EP but this somehow flows well? There's a reason this isn't so overlooked, banger after banger.

  19. Adventures in Joyland
    by waterfront dining
    jasmine jasmine
'Adventures in Joyland' battles between the sound of classy nightclub songs and slow-jams for the lovebirds. The album has wonderful sample consistency but the flow seems to throw the vibe of "joyland" (whatever that is; Vegas, perhaps).

Strong points to make this a memorable release.

    true promises true promises
Beautiful, just beautiful. I am simply left with no words each time I listen to 'Zombie'. From 'Hypnotized' to 'Gravity', something about the slow, 90's feeling, romantic album captures me. This is an essential Vaporwave album for new-comers to the genre.
