    Dim Dim
    Trance metal.
The root of CoL's sound. Not where they are today but imo the best of their "old sound".
Which was, ofc, "new" at the time. :)
As an album overall a rougher sound, a happy accident I think as it's turned out their best. (so far)
I'm not usually too fussed about the Favourite Track aspect of reviews here, exception: in this case Dim is a 100% must listen- in the album it is perfectly placed and then into the finale of Dark City, Dead Man it is a carry-away.

A Message of Avarice Rained Down Upon Us and Carried Us Away Into False Dreams of Endless Riches A Message of Avarice Rained Down Upon Us and Carried Us Away Into False Dreams of Endless Riches
    Core of the bands sound?
Perfect leveling of the ranges of steel pedal with guitar and bass drone.
Song titles that were a meme of the 2000s, too real for the people that remember them in the 2020s. :)
My first and always recommendation of the band to people who haven't heard of them.

    Fact Boy Fact Boy
    A Mogwai best of?
Collection of sounds from their past.
Hear tones of vocoder greats, drone greats, "post-rock" greats.
If you need an intro to them this is it, if I'm honest each track could probably just be a pointer to a great in their past, but that's a nice review, right? :)
They manage to close on a great, droner, note as they always seem to do.
I am looking forward to seeing them live, I just hope from the sound of this album it isn't the last time. :\

    Dafodil Dafodil
Jamie's expansion of his solo sound.
Dub-lite? (that is not a criticism)
And with the familiar, welcomed, return of previous bandmembers.
Great (summer?) sound of 2024, but I have to admit a bit late for the year- 2025 will be quick around the corner though. :)
Thanks for the sounds no matter the time of the year though.
  18. fossora
    by Björk
    Ancestress Ancestress
    Classic range of Björk sounds.
Her most personal album, in my opinion- more of Björk the indivudual and less of the enigmatic artist. But where should the divide be? :)
Happy for her sharing of personal emotions, sad for the dissolution of an artists' mystery?
Question mark for tone, great album.
