My first Gizz album and I'd argue the best entry point to the Gizzverse. There's riffs for days and it really capitalises on the psychedelic garage rock sound the band are most well known for. Love how each track blends into one another and creates this perfectly circular loop. Definitely one to put on infinite repeat!
A classic underrated Gizz album. Feels like a daisy in my hair on a summers day, which is a bit ironic given some of the lyrics. Has the psychedelic staples of their usual sound pushed through a folk pop lens. Good stuff!
Honestly didn't expect this to go as hard as it did. Definitely an overlooked Garage Rock gem in Gizz's discography. Punky, surfy, and perfect for a alcohol infused party. Different to their later stuff, but right up my street.
Lots of Juicy late 90s early noughties Alt rock vibes to sink your teeth into. Heavy and synthy in all the right places; it makes me feel like I'm at a seedy rock club at the turn of the millennium.
Another chapter in the sprawling Sci-fi epic that is The Amory Wars, except this time it's a prequel. Musically this still bops with lots of fun and heavy proggy ideas and lots of quieter soft moments too. Glad to be able to pick this double album up in a collected form like this.
Honestly this album makes me feel like I'm floating round on an asteroid belt, just chilling and watching the universe roll by. Ultimate vibes forever.
Probably a bit chiller than their first release but absolutely brimming with delightfully infectious, catchy pop hooks. Been meaning to add this to my digital collection for a while so glad I have!
Beautiful indie folk bops to lose yourself in. carefully crafted and brilliantly produced; turn off all the lights, close your eyes and let this album wash over you.
Otoboke Beaver are all clearly clinically insane and as a result make literally the best punk rock music possible. I want to take on Godzilla after listening to this album. Picked this up at one of their shows and it was just as manic as you'd expect. Go see them live or die trying.
