It's one of the most popular tracks, what is there really to say? It's a fucked up story told by my favorite person to hear fucked up stories from. Now if only Ferryman were available on here..
From the literature references to the amazing chorus, this song is a masterpiece. Easily one of my favorite in the discography. Very powerful and very descriptive, like the perfect child of spoken word and indie music.
I just love everything about this song, but it's mostly because, at heart, I am a filthy, edgy socialist and love to hear anti-capitalist messages in well thought-out songs.
I have never been able to say that an entire album at once resonates with me. The style taken up by most of the songs in this album exhibits a very high production quality, and you can just HEAR the effort that was put into every track (yes, even those two)
The sheer energy every single song in this masterpiece of an album gives off is unmatched. We only got 8 songs, but he definitely chose quality over quantity.
They're not all bangers, and that's okay, it's the first album. The ones that do hit hit HARD. This album is home to some of my favorite bridges in the entire WW discography.
Rusty's more serious music has always been a favorite of mine. The stylized nature of Hollow Men strikes me in the same nature as If All Should Fail and The Grave from Vol. 4. I cannot wait to see more songs stem from this.
