This whole album feels like the expression of a kind of violent and forcefully optimistic spite towards the blackness of the universe itself, in contrast to the similarly forceful but bleaker, much more reserved and defeatist moods on the original DLS. It brings a very strong "fuck it we ball" kind of energy, a desire to persist in the face of the horrors, if only because continuing forward means you get to stick it to the horrors. I fuck with it IMMENSELY because of that.
