Instant order. Never thought they would release something like this. Listening to this the Real Way is still best, but the experimental gimmick of the album also caused many to overlook the album itself leading to it becoming what feels like a sort of Forgotten boris album. Thus many don't realize the music itself is some of boris' very best, right up there with Feedbacker to which this very much feels like a sister album of. Please give it a listen! Extended a bao a qu only sweetens the deal.

Please please please never stop putting these out. Even if you run out of tape in such good condition, I still wanna cherish any rougher sounding ones too. That's long been part of the LRD charm anyway. <3

I will literally keep buying as these as long as they keep coming out. This one feels relatively minor but it's still a massively fun rocker I keep coming back to. Flame of Ice here is wildy good. Mine dream release is the March 23 '81 show where they take tension and anticipation to the extreme. Tell Kubota-san :) Thanks for everything

Beyond Good and Evil Beyond Good and Evil
Perhaps the single strangest entry into the boris catalog and one that hasn't received the warm welcome it deserves, overshadowed by the more obvious crowd pleasers, No and Heavy Rocks, on either side. While Boris will never disappoint when rocking out, I love them most when they're carving out new territory and I'm glad they continue to do both so well so far into their career. One of my new favorites.

Maybe the most incredible thing about this album is that boris somehow hadn't already made it. The sound is pure boris and while they're so often associated with doom, drone, and sludge, never before (arguably even in the Solomon cycle) have they had a release with such a singular focus on massive, glacial walls of tone. Sounds like the missing piece we always hallucinated as existing made manifest. Hands down an essential work.
