Was very lucky to receive a free LP of this from the amazing folks at Transylvanian Recordings after ordering the new Abyssal record.

This record actually floored me, so I just had to buy it. Sounds swedish as fuck. Tinges of post-metal, but more of an unholy mixture of funeral doom and DSBM than anything.

Cosmic in scale and themes. Intricately arranged without sacrificing a sense of suffocating vastness. Even at its most pummeling macrocosmic peaks, it manages to instill deep reflections.

This is simply overflowing with the best shit Floating Door's ever done. The artist has been very generous here, giving us the full breadth of the vision for this outstanding game.

You can bask in the warmth of every ambient piece, keep yourself on your toes with the little soundbites, get lost in the mazes of the more complex beat-driven tunes.

If you're clever enough you can easily assemble 3 or 4 FD albums with this one and give each of them a distinct flow and tone.

This isn't just the best funeral doom album that came out in 2024, it may just also be in my top 10 funeral doom albums of all time.

It reminds me of Corrupted's Garten Der Unbewusstheit, but more focused. It also has that pitch black minimalistic darkness I associate with Nortt, and that sense of grandiose melancholy you would get with Evoken, Esoteric or Mournful Congregation.

Loud, raw, dense, patient, essential. The best Abyssal record to date.
