    I came right from Black Metal Promotion and instantly purchased after one listen. This album is, by far, my atmoblack album of the year, and already in my running for AOTY. The guitar tone is incredible, enveloping me in atmospheric tingles the entire way through. The deep/melancholic vocals grow as the album progresses, with hints of doom metal even within (especially on Throes of Bereavement I).

    If I were to tell you that this is the debut album of Sepulchre, would you believe me? There is nothing I love more in black metal than drums that build up in songs, leading into the most intense, enveloping riffs. Add in the haunting vocals, and you have my AOTY, by far.

    The most amazing part of music is how you can miss an album for 5+ years, then finally hear it and fall in love with it. I, somehow, had no idea Sunken existed until now (2025). This album is my backdated AOTY for 2020. What an absolute dark, emotional masterpiece of atmospheric black metal. The mood envelopes you from beginning to end, and the guitar tone is everything I love about the genre. One of the best atmoblack albums of the last 10 years, easily.

    What an absolute masterpiece of old school death metal, with an awesome mix of sounds of their own (the female vocals are an awesome touch). As someone whom primarily listens to black metal over the last several years (just peek at my collection and you will see), this is the crushing sound that I will always adore. A death metal AOTY contender, for sure!
