Burning the Effigies is the first of three singles recorded simultaneously and is therefore bound somehow. The music was written by Yod Amygdala at the start of covid, taking inspiration from the usual suspect of deathrock and the like, but also Queens Of The Stone Age and Sepultura. As usually we wish you god luck in finding these inspiration in the music. We believe the anger and finesse is perfectly balanced giving fertile ground for the lyrics, which in turn was written around the time Russia invaded Ukraine and the world was thrown into turmoil. We felt this really was a time where most politicians were having a cock measuring contest with Russia, while being quite indecisive about supporting Ukraine. The song describes how politicians is constantly playing imperialist games while bulldozing over it's own citizens as well as other nations. It adds at the end a scenario where the people rise up against their oppressors powers and tearing it down, like a classic revolutionary anthem. Burning The Effigies showcases Batboner as more angry than before, but, then again, how can we not be in the political climate we live in?
