The opening song reigns supreme; it comes at you with an imperial dignity. It's all the more surprising when the songwriting resorts to very simple melody lines, but there lies talent that you don't need twenty ingredients to make a juicy feast. Bertrand Marchal
Entre "le temps guérit tous les maux" et "le temps ne fait rien à l'affaire", Illimitable Dolor est partisan du deuxième adage : si Leaden Light, successeur de l'album éponyme, demande deux ans de travail au désormais quartette australien, la peine, elle, reste intacte au point où "Armed He Brings The Dannw" est dans la parfaite continuité de "Abandoned Cuts of River". Malgré tout, le death/doom metal y est mieux produit (le chant baisse en volume), plus raffiné et atmosphérique. C'est superbe ! Nocturnal Egg (Jordan)

Listening to Noctu feels like slowly slipping below the surface of the ocean. You open your mouth to scream, bubbles escape, and saltwater fills your burning lungs. Cold, dead fingers grasp your ankles and pull you deeper, deeper into the inky black abyss. Noctu’s keyboard focus really gives this album a lovely creepy, haunted feel. Dave Aftandilian
