Orika, the latest EP from the Colombian duo Bimol, is a declaration of versatility that explores sounds and themes permeated by its members' everyday political, spiritual, and cultural context. They rely on their signature sound: raw techno with hypnotic rhythms accompanied by the penetrating and reflective vocals of the singer Donna Lace, as well as on diverse collaborations with other artists from the Kontra label.

In Orika, Bimol embarks on a journey through various electronic territories, hand in hand with their sonic brothers from Kontra. The first track, which gives the album its name, is built on a groovy foundation accompanied by melodies that fluctuate between techno and classic house. The result is a dancefloor-oriented track, perfect for kicking off this sonic journey. The second track is "7even," created in collaboration with Confidential Recipe, co-founder, and curator of Kontra, who manages to imprint his characteristic sound of powerful kicks and marked percussions with hypnotic melodies. In third place, we find "It's Mine (Amen Mix)," a robust track built from broken sounds and baritone vocals, the result of joining forces with another member of the Kontra family: the Venezuelan artist Dagga, whose breaks have taken over dancefloors around the globe. Closing the EP is "Pintas," a collaboration between Bimol and the distinctive sound of Jauri. The track results in a dreamlike journey composed of enveloping and cyclical techno sounds, an atmospheric track with hypnotic and introspective vocals, ideal to conclude this sonic voyage.

This is the third release from Kontra Records, which returns with this EP, reaffirming the heart of its genesis: a comprehensive project, a gathering of revolutionary music lovers centered around creation, artistic expression, and sound reflection. It stands creatively in a present where all possibilities exist and where there's still so much to be done.
