I know this record is regarded as a landmark noise rock album but I think it's actually pretty melodic and playful, like with the bratty get-the-last-word-in notes of "Pull The Cup." It rocks, for sure, but it's constructed in an almost jazz-like fashion, building instruments and sounds atop one another like LEGO bricks. There's an incredible amount of craft here. If Veruca Salt had continued down the path of their Bob Rock-produced second record, it might've sounded something like this L.A. group. Bandcamp New & Notable Oct 25, 2025
