lyrics
Woke last night and the night before
I had to ghost-ride and bow your god
Fled so high, I mean I dreamt for more
While I've been trying to tame your moan
All of my visions were calling me home
Oh we were living in this rock n' roll hell
And now you're leaving, well no no no no
Woke last night and my thoughts were chiming, yeah
Fled so high, looking for more
While I've been trying to tame your moan
All of my visions were calling me home
Oh we were living in this rock n' roll hell
And now you're leaving, well no no no no
What you are waiting for, is there to play
What you are waiting for, is there to play
What are you waiting for? It's all the same
That's where they trade all their love
Until they find, find, find, you gonna find it
I'm gonna show you what you've done
Until you scream, scream, scream, you gonna wonder
I'm gonna break out one more time
And I'll breathe breathe breathe, oh mother
I'm gonna walk a hundred miles
Until you dream, dream, dream
I’m a huge nerd and knew I would love this album simply from the name of the band. Shai-Hulud was the first track I heard and it remains my favorite, its deep and droning sound is just fucken awesome. Complete Obliteration comes in at a close second for the favorites. God I could kiss that guitar tone on its personified mouth! TerraqueousIdeology
I bought this album expecting doom, got an album full of eclectic heavy rock that is closer to American bands like Mastodon than British Doom ala Cathedral. Still, the vocals are absolutely gorgeous, the production is lush and punchy, the melodies ebb and flow. This album is a like a warm blanket on a cold winter's evening. And yes, there are nods to that classic British doom sound dispersed throughout the album. Not quite what I had expected, but a fantastic album nonetheless. Jan
Combining crooned murder ballads with raw, angsty hard rock hooks, Melbourne's The Ugly Kings are a wrecking crew well worth watching. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 15, 2021
The first release I heard from Sergeant Thunderhoof that almost didn't even catch my interest the first time around, but I'm so glad I came back. Their style is just perfect for what I want from stoner/psych, a perfect blend of sounds that come together with a magnitude greater than the components themselves, hitting emotional depths as they should.
