With the challenging or competitive situation we find ourselves today, i have come to realise that skills are more better than jobs.
It is of more disadvantage if one depends on jobs when we know we are in a competitive environment where their are many people ready to take over once position incase of emergency but is not so it has to do with once skil. A skilled person has an upper hand when we talk of meeting ends need because it will be difficult finding an employee with same level of experience if need be.
Currently today many jobs are fading away because of advancement in technology but it is not so in skills, instead personels will also advance same way technology is doing.
Skills is better but the advantage isn't just about the skills alone but less attention, if everyone is skillful today it will be hard on everyone too because there will be alot of people seeking for online jobs and others, since everyone is skillful it wouldn't be hard for companies to hire someone. We can't all be good at one thing, there should be some balance and that's why we have different type of niches, a skillful person has upper hand because others don't know what he knows.
In my country, you are only allowed to serve for thirty five years, but when your real age is 65 years and you have just spent 20 years in your working service, definitely your actual age will determine your fate and you will be forced to retire. The only advantage that a job have over skills is that your salary will be paid no matter what even though you are absent from work, but in business you have to be there fully if not you cannot see anything or any profit from it.
Skills need ful attention so that it can be able to create more things and also grow faster. If you are very skillful in one or two things you will get an appropriate space anywhere you went to. You will I may be respected and also recommended through that your skills than someone who is just looking for job.
