Masculine Cards Workshop 2015

Last month, I had a workshop and my favorite ladies got to create masculine card for Father's Day, Birthday or whatever.  I would like to share what we did.  First off, I wish to give credit to some very talented consultants who were the creators of some of the cards.  The card entitled "Pull My Finger" was a creation by Nikka Gears that I cased almost exactly.  I grew up as the only girl amongst brother's so you can see how I would think this was such a perfect guy card.  What a hoot!  Next, the men's suit jacket was created by Jan Schmidt (and she has wonderful instructions on her blog for this card).  The third card that I would like to give to credit to is for the World's Greatest Day card I found on Pinterest but alas I could not find the author of this work.

All of the cards are standard size cards.  I like cards that can go through the mail fairly easily so I tend to stick to standard size cards:

Papers:  Jackson WOTG; Cocoa, Juniper, Barn Red, Glacier, and White Daisy Cardstocks
Stamps A1173 The Best Dad Ever; D1646 Finding the Words; B416 Keyboard Upper Case; Typed Notes (April SOM, ret.)
Inks:  Cocoa, Glacier, Barn Red, and Black Exclusive Inks

The best part is that stamp sets from Seasonal Expressions II will continue to be available after the Seasonal Expressions II catalog expires.

Masculine Birthday Card

The month of May is full of card opportunities.  There is Mother's Day, my son and son in law's birthdays, my daughter in law's birthday and the list goes on.  So, for my son and son-in-law's birthday cards, I was very inspired by Dana Kessler to the point of pretty much casing her card.  When I have so many cards, the creative juices are sometimes stagnant.  Anyway, here is my rendition of Dana's lovely card:

I used our retired textured cardstock to make this card.  I really love this paper because one side is true color and the other is a lighter, coordinated color.  The base of this card is cocoa.

This one shows some detail a little better:

And here is the inside of the card:

Papers:  Jackson WOTG papers; Cocoa textured cardstock (ret.)
Stamps D1646 Finding the Words; S1504 Typed Note (ret.) -- below
Inks:  Juniper, Cocoa, and Black Exclusive Inks

And here is the wonderful cake that my Grandson picked for his father, my son--a real outdoors man.  He had to make sure that he would be able to keep the boat, fisherman, and fish.  Of course his dad told my Grandson that he could hold them for him.  :-)

Happy Birthday Ian!

Love, Mom

My item is a standard size card. I loved this sketch from Cardabilities but knew that when I posted this it would be too late to join the challenge; but, a good sketch is still a good sketch!

So, here is my card -

First on the list is a 5"x7" birthday card for a friend whose birthday is in a couple of days.  Since I just got a new Cricut Explore, I wanted to use my it for my projects for this hop.  My first project uses the new Blossom Paper kit.  The first image is the card folded.

Next is the unfolded picture:

Papers:   Blossom Paper kit, Sunset, White Daisy Cardstocks
Stamps:
Ink:   Black  Exclusive Ink
Embellishments:   Glacier Extra Thick Twine, z1752 Clear Sparkles
Other:  Circut CTMH Artfully Sent cartridge

So while I was on a roll cutting away with my new cricket, I decided that each of my grandkids would get $10 for Easter--they would already be overdosed on candy.  So I decided to make little bitty money holder containers.  These look a whole lot bigger than they really are.  The little bag made with Jackson paper is only 4" tall.

This one is made with Jackson papers using the Cricut Artiste cartridge.  The cardstock is Glacier.

These cute little purses are perfect size to hold a folded up bill.  I used Blossom papers with Lagoo  cardstock for one little purse and Smoothie for the other little purse.  The gems are Bling Gems Gold Assortment and these purses are cut with the Cricut Artiste cartridge.

Stop back by this month and be sure to check out the stamp sets I will be displaying from the new Seasonal 2 catalog.

Now it is time to hop on over to Judy Faye Garner's blog and see what eye candy she is flashing your way!
