Hello Beautiful~Table Top Decor by Guest Designer Sandhya

Hello friends! I am so excited to be guest designing for the Blank Page Muse and welcome to my first
post for the March Challenge – Anything but cards. One of my friends recently said to me that it would be wonderful to have one of my cards standing on her desk instead of having to put them away in a treasure box. And so, I decided to make it happen!

I used the gorgeous Background Roses 4 x 5 Red Rubber Stamp by Pam Bray to make my little piece of art. I stamped the background on Neenah Solar White 110lb cardstock with Versafine ink and heat
embossed over it with Brutus Monroe Alabaster Sparkle embossing powder. Next, I ink blended over it with Distress Oxides – Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry, Candied Apple and Seedless Preserves. I applied some Rainbow Deco Foil over die cut words and adhered them to my panel. I trimmed the panel down to 3”X 4.35” and adhered it to a piece of black cardstock trimmed to 4.25”X 5.5” with fun foam. Next, I die cut a frame from white cardstock using Pinkfresh Studios dies and added to around the pink panel.

To make my panel stand, I trimmed a piece out of my Cheerios cereal box to the same size as my
finished black panel. I used cut to slanting lines and scored along the inner edge to fold it out like the
back of a photo frame. I adhered this stand to the back of my panel and called it done! You could add
some pattern paper or gift wrap paper over the cereal box card if you want to make it more fancy. But I liked the Kraft look and decided to leave it that way.

I think this is a great way to upcycle some cereal boxes and use your background stamps to make pretty décor pieces for your desk.

Thank you for stopping by and I would love to hear your thoughts on this. And if you have some cool ideas to share, please join us in this month’s challenge!

This is so wonderful, thanks so much for creating for us! Here are the social places to find more of Sandhya's gorgeous art!

Roses & Birthdays~ Guest Designer Tracy Ware

Hello crafty friends!  Tracy here!  I hope that everyone has had a great start to the new year.  Personally, I can’t even believe that it’s January!  I’m so excited to be joining Blank Page Muse to create some design inspirations for you guys!  Today I’ll be sharing a card using the Background Roses stamp.

I started this card by stamping the Background Roses stamp in dye ink, making it marker friendly, because I knew that I wanted to add color to these beautiful roses with alcohol markers.  I’m using 110lb cardstock for this panel.

I colored the roses in a darker and lighter pink, giving them dimension.  I also colored the background space behind the roses with a soft blue.  Once I was done coloring, I trimmed my panel down to determine how large I wanted the image to be on my actual card base.

I added a black panel behind my image to make it pop.  For my sentiment, I used tiny block letters to stamp out Happy Birthday on a sentiment strip.

I ended up trimming my image panel down to 3” x 4 1/4”.  I trimmed my black layer down as well to 3 1/4” x 4 1/2” and adhered those together.

I splattered my card base, which is also 110lb cardstock, with black gouache that I thinned out with just a little bit of water.

I adhered my rose panel and black panel to my card base using foam tape for dimension.  I adhered my sentiment strip using foam tape as well.  To finish, I added these pearl embellishments to give it some shine and interest.

This card would be great done in other colors as well, such as yellow or red.  Thanks for joining me today here on the Blank Page Muse blog.  I’d love to know if you like coloring as much as I do, so leave me a comment.  I just find it very relaxing, especially on days where I’m not feeling all that creative, but I want to create.  Please visit the Blank Page Muse Instagram account for other inspirations.  You can also find me on Instagram here.  Stop by and say hello!

Until next time, stay awesome!

Day of the Dead Card

Hello, Kelly here with a quick Day of the Dead card.

This card was created with several flower stamps from Blank Page Muse!

Whimsical 5 Petal Doodle Flower
Background Roses
Flowers from Flamingo Row
Small Sunflower Blossom

Other supplies used -
TCW Stencil - Day of the Dead
Distress Oxide Inks
White Cardstock
Black Cardstock
VersaFine Clair Nocturne

To start off, using DO squeezed lemonade ink all over the background, then stamp the Background Roses with DO Wilted Violets over the yellow. Lay the stencil on top of the stamped background and blend DO worn lipstick over the stencil for the skull. then use a micron pen to outline the skull face on the card and give it highlights with a white gel pen.

Stamp the flowers on white cardstock, and color with DO inks in Wilted Violet and Worn Lipstick and Carved Pumpkin let dry then fussy cut out the flowers. While the flowers are drying, use the DO Carved Pumpkin along the edges of the card.

When the flowers are dry, gently curl the edges up around the center of the flower slightly to give them some dimension. Stack the flowers over each other until you like the arrangement and glue down.

Glue this finished panel to a black cardstock panel then adhere to a white card.

Hope you like this quick card and stop by our other links for more projects and ideas!

Bookmark From Snippets

If you often find yourself with leftover snippets of card, why not turn them into fun bookmarks? That's what Charlotte did here, using the Background Roses stamp and some quick alcohol marker colouring. Round the corners, punch a hole and add some twine, and you have a bookmark ready to go!

Smile When You Remember........

Hi Blank Page Muse Fans!

I hope you have been enjoying the DT creations so far this month! Always so much creativity and inspiration being shared here at the blog!

Today I am sharing some vintage style tags made with rubber stamps and collage elements!
I love combining rubber stamping with collage - a great way to compliment each other!
Supplies:
Blank Page Muse Stamp: Background Roses by Pam Bray
Blank Page Muse Stamp Set: Art Journaling #2 by Terri Sproul - "Remember When" & "Smile"
Blank Page Muse Stamp: Background Grunge Art Sheet by Pam Bray - "Single Rose"
Blank Tags
Collage Characters - used here Art Tea Life Collage Sheet
Ink Sprayed "Mop Up" Paper Towel
Embossing Ink & Gold Embossing Powder
Black Archival Ink & Distress Inks
Gesso
Kraft Paper Scraps
Scraps Muslin Cloth
Cloth Ribbon & Fancy Pin
Tools: heat gun, scissors, glue, sponge, spatula
Instructions:
The first step is to decorate your tag background.

Use a glue stick to cover the front of your tag and adhere the paper towel to the tag. Cut out around the tag leaving a border to fold over and adhere to the back of the tag to give a neat finish to the tag front. Then use a spatula and the Gesso and apply a very thin layer to the tag front. As you can see in the picture above the Gesso helps to tone the colour ready for the next step.
Ink the Rose Background Stamp with embossing ink and stamp onto the tag. Use gold embossing powder and a heat gun to set. the effect of this stamp over the background in gold is beautiful!
Decorate the plain cloth ribbon to add to the top of your tag. Use a sponge and some Distress inks to colour the ribbon and then stamp the Single Rose with Black Archival Ink randomly over the ribbon.
Stamp your wording stamps onto Kraft paper and tear out.
Fussy cut your collage elements and arrange on the tag along with the scrap of muslin cloth and wording stamp and adhere with glue. Attach the printed ribbon to the top with a fancy safety pin.
Hope you have enjoyed my post today!
Always so many ways to use your Blank Page Muse Stamps!
Enjoy!

Emboss Resist Floral Birthday Card

Hi everyone! Charlotte here, and today I am sharing a pretty floral birthday card using the embossed resist technique, a little masking, and gradient ink blending.

Blank Page Muse products used:
Background Roses by Pam Bray
Happy Birthday Phrase

(Shop now and save! Use code BPMDtCharlotte2019 to save %15 off your total order!)

Other materials:
White card base
Masking tape
Embossing ink
Clear and white embossing powders
Distress Oxides in Worn Lipstick, Wild Honey and Squeezed Lemonade
Black card
Dimensional adhesive

Instructions:
Begin by using masking tape to mask off half an inch on each edge of an A2 card base.

Next place the Background Roses stamp face up on the craft mat or table, and ink up well with embossing ink. Treat the card base with anti-static powder.

Carefully lay the card base on top of the inky background stamp and press all over the back to get an even impression.

Sprinkle clear embossing powder over the card base, ensuring it is completely covered, then heat set.

Move the card base to a craft mat and begin ink blending. Starting with the lightest color, Squeezed Lemonade, blend over approximately one third of the card. Switch to the middle color, Wild Honey, and repeat the process for the next third of the card. Alternate between the two colors until the blend between the two is smooth.

Switch to the third and final color, Worn Lipstick, and add it to the remaining third of the card. Again alternate between the two colors, in this case Worn Lipstick and Wild Honey, until the transition between the two is smooth.

Having completed the blending use a dry tissue, paper towel or cloth to buff away any ink that has been resisted by the clear heat embossing.

Slowly and carefully peel back the masking tape to remove it. Pull it back against itself to reduce the risk of tearing the card base.

White heat emboss the Happy Birthday Phrase onto a snippet of black card. Trim down and adhere to the card base using dimensional adhesive.

I hope you enjoyed my blog post! Emboss resist is such a fun technique and is a great way to make use of intricate background stamps. Using ombre or gradient ink blending with it can really add to the overall look.

Girlfriends & Roses Card

Hi Gals,
Karen here; today I'd like to share my super feminine friendship card. I hope you like pink & black as much as I do. Here's how I did it.

Supplies:
1. Just Us Girls Line Figures Stamp Set (Sin City Stamps)
2. Background Roses 4"x 5" Red Rubber Stamp by Pam Bray (Sin City Stamps)
3. Background Grunge Art Rubber Stamp Sheet designed by Pam Bray (Sin City Stamps)
4. clear mounting block
5. black & pink ink pads
6. pink cardstock
7. black marker
8. ribbon & small leave
9. white card base 5x7"

Directions:
1.  Stamp two different lady images onto white cardstock and color them in with a black marker to make a simple silhouette.  Carefully, cut out the image.  Use a craft knife for the small intricate areas.

2.  Stamp the background roses onto white cardstock using a pink ink pad.  Next, stamp a selection of various size roses to use as embellishments later.

3.  Attach a piece of pink cardstock to a 5x7" card base and adhere the stamped background rose panel to the upper portion of the card base.

4.  Adhere the two silhouettes to the lower left corner of the card.

5.  Tie a faux bow around an 8" length of pink satin ribbon.  Fold the ends of the ribbon over the edge of the card and adhere them to the inside front panel.

6. Stamp the greeting onto transparency using permanent black ink.  Next, use pink watercolor to paint some individual roses and cut them out when thoroughly dry. Attach them in clusters with dimensional foam tape.

7. Finally, embellish the roses with small glittered leaves.

Something Fishy....

Hi Everyone!
Today I have a few quick tags to share with you using a great background stamp available at the store: "Background Roses" by Pam Bray.
I used the background stamp to emboss the entire tag - and to be honest these tags were "rejects" from another creation I was making but I didn't want to waste them so I decided to decorate them with collage elements!

These tags are so quick and easy to make with Distress Inks, Background Stamp, White Embossing Ink & Powder, Scraps of Muslin Cloth & Some Quirky Collage Images (I used images from Lisa's Altered Art Etsy Store).

Hope you are feeling creative!!

Remember to share your Sin City creations at our Fans Facebook Group!!

Happy Stamping!

Flower Fairies....

Hi Sin City Stamps Fans!!
Thanks for joining me today!

I've created a couple of embossed tags with some cute little flower gals in soft color tones!

Supplies:
Sin City Stamp Set: Fairytale Fantasy Figures
Sin City Stamp Set: Dandelion Wishes with Butterflies
Sin City Stamp: Background Roses
Tags - 6cm x 12cm used for this project
White Embossing Powder and Ink
Distress inks - 3 of your favourite colours
Black Archival Ink
White Card scraps
General supplies: heat tool, sponges, glue, tape, scissors, colouring pencils or markers, fibres, cloth scraps - embellishments of your choice

Instructions:
The first step is to emboss the tags ready to add the Stamped Fairytale Gals. Gather your tags, distress inks & sponges, background stamp, ink pad and embossing powder and heat tool.

Stamp the background stamp with white pigment ink onto your tags - covering the whole of the tag. cover with white embossing powder, tap off excess powder and replace safely in the pot and then heat emboss.

Next step is to add the distress ink to the tags. Use your favourite colours and sponge onto the tag. The white embossed image looks great with these inks!

Put aside the tags while you stamp the cute little Flower Girls from the Fairytale Fantasy figures Set. Use Black Archival ink and colour with your choice of colouring medium. I used Copic Markers for these stamps. Fancy cut the stamped flower girls.

Stamp a sentiment from the Dandelion wishes with Butterflies Set. Used here: Make a Wish and Good Morning sentiments. Stamp with opne of the same colour Distress Inks you used to sponge the tag background. Fussy cut the sentiment and ink the edge with a sponge.

Arrange the images and sentiments on the tags and adhere. Add any bits of cloth or embellishments of your choice here too. finish off with some complimentary fibres at the top of the tags.

I love these tags - they are so soft and girly!
