Courage Tag Card

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here again with a courageous card.  In these trying times, it takes courage to do so many different things, but we must try because only by trying can we see how it affects others around us.

Supplies:
Blank Page Muse Stamps: Courage, Mountain and Beaches Stamp Set
Blank Page Muse Stencil: Blocks Pattern
Distress Oxide Inks
Cardstock
Tag

Begin by starting with a tag and stamping the mountain twice, one slightly above the other using dark brown ink.

Next, add some color with Distress Oxide Ink in Faded Jeans above the mountains for a sky effect and then Distress Oxide Ink in Ground Espresso around the mountains.

Use the Blocks Stencil with Ground Espresso Ink on blue cardstock.

This created a fun effect for a background.

Courage was stamped on a scrap of white cardstock and matted with kraft cardstock.
Then it was added to the tag.
The tag was added to the card with foam adhesives for dimension.

Won't you try being courage today?

Thanks for stopping by.

Creating a Water Color Scene with your Stamps

Aloha!   Beachy Summer greetings!  I have recently taken a few water color painting classes and today I am excited to share a  easy water color scene you can create with you Blank Page Muse Stamps.
I have included a detailed step by step tutorial below.

Supplies used
Water Color Paper
Distress Inks and markers ( or other Water Color ink and markers)
Water Brush

Start your project by determining your horizon line. Stamp mountains from Blank Page Muses Mountains & Beaches Rubber Stamps using  two different colors of Distress Inks.  You can see that I did not bother with masking the images.

Using a water brush, pull ink from stamped images.  Be sure to pull ink along stamped lines.

Ink palm tree and stamp onto paper.

Use a water brush to spread ink. Then add sand with ink and water brush.

Stamp blue ink onto non-stick surface and add water. use to paint sky.

Using the same technique mix several blues to create waves of ocean.  Be sure to add ink in straight lines to simulate the waves.

I hope you are inspired to get inky! Be sure to follow us for more fun creations!

Aged Focal Point

Hi everyone! Charlotte here, and today I am sharing a fun beach themed card with an aged, vintage feel to it.

Blank Page Muse products used:
Mountains & Beaches Sheet

(Shop now and save! Use code BPMDtCharlotte2019 to save 15% off your total order!)

Other materials:
White card base
Watercolor card
Water spritzer
Repositionable adhesive tape
Heat gun
Brown ink
Stamping tool or acrylic block
Distress Oxides e.g. Stormy Sky, Tumbled Glass, Wild Honey, Squeezed Lemonade, Cracked Pistachio and Lucky Clover
Tea Dye Distress Ink
Scissors

Instructions:
Cut a panel of watercolor cardstock. Stamp the front most images, the hut and trees, with brown ink. Roughly mask the images and stamp the first line of mountains. Repeat masking and stamping until the scene is built. Remove all the masks.

Loosely colour the image using the smooshing and distress inks and/or oxides.
Spritz the panel with water and crumple it up to give it an aged look. Flatten it back out and blend over with Tea Dye Distress ink.
Lightly and roughly add texture to some areas, primarily the edges, with Tea Dye ink and the small crackle stamp. Run the edge of the scissors' blade along the sides of the panel to distress it. Roll one or more corners and add some slight tears if desired. Add more tea Dye ink to the exposed areas.

Set the panel aside. Stamp the star fish repeatedly on the white card base using Tea Dye ink to create a rough pattern. Add the sentiment to the lower right corner of the card base with the same brown ink as used originally. Add liquid glue to the back of the aged panel and adhere to the card base. Avoid excessively flattening the image.

I hope you enjoyed my blog post! The crumpling technique can be a bit daunting, especially when you've spent some time working on creating the image, but the result is worthwhile. I hope you'll give it a try, and I'd love to see what you make!

Embark on a Travel Adventure

Hello all the Blank Page Muse stamp Fans. We are at the end of July already. Can you believe that? I hope you all are having a great and fun Summer. Here is a Sunset colored postcard I made.
Can't you just see these colors on a hot Summer night as the sun is setting?

 Stamps Used:
Mountains & Beaches set

Other Supplies:
Watercolor paper
Nuance Powers
Cloud stencil
White Paint
Black ink
Washi Tape
Word stickers
Marker
Heat Gun
Start off with a 4x6 watercolor paper. Wet the paper and then add your colors of Nuance watercolor powers to it. Make it look like a hot sunset. Use red, orange and yellow . Use a heat gun to dry the watercolor postcard. You can let it air dry if you got the time for that.( not me)
Next grab a cloud stencil and some white paint. Make some clouds on the top of the postcard. Let dry.
At the bottom of the postcard, stamp the mountain . You have to stamp it 2 times because it does not fit all away across the bottom of the postcard.
At the right side stamp the palm tree from the same stamp set. Then add some washi tape.
Stick a strip of washi tape on the left side to balance the finished piece.

Lastly, add swords to create your saying.
Take a fine tip marker and trace around the words to make them stand out.

Now, come join all the fun!

Fun in the Sun Post Card

Aloha,

Sending warm greetings from the beautiful beaches of Hawaii!
You can not help but be inspired when visiting such an exotic location.
This card was inspired by the vintage art work observed on the islands. Scene building cards are a great way to create small pieces of art to share with your friends and family or to remember a special event.

   Gelli Arts Printing Plate
   Paint
   Distress tool
   Foam tape
   Alcohol markers
   Black ink

Use the Gelli plate with shades of blue paint create the water/sky background. Using multiply layers of paint, create a wave like action for the ocean part of the scene.

Stamp the palm leaves only from the palm tree stamp in black ink in the fore ground. Next stamp the mountains and sail boat on white card stock.  Color in with shades of gray using alcohol markers. Scan and cut images to be adhered to the layer. Distress the edges of the painted/stamped layer to create the vintage look. Using foam tape attach this layer to a blue layer then tape this to the white card base.

Window to the Sea

Hello Friends,

I am building a card using bits and pieces from multiple stamp sets.
I have so many stamps that I have wanted to use, I decided to take stamps from different sets to create one card.
Thus I am able to justify to myself why I needed to buy so many different sets.
(I know I am not the only one to feel this way. Right?)
I think this shows how versatile Sin City Stamps really are!

Supplies:
Sin City Stamp Set - Mountain & Beaches
   Water Stamp
   Bird Stamp
   Sand Stamp
   Beach Grass Stamp
   Sentiment Stamp
   Brick Stencil
   Texture Paste
   Window Die
   Foam Tape
   Window Sheet
Ink:  shades of blue, green and brown

Step 1:  Using texture paste, create a brick wall effect on card layer.  This will give texture to the card.
Tip* It helps to use re-positional tape to hold paper in place.

Step 2:  Stamp water and sand on the layer that should be cut to be slightly larger then the window panes of the die.

Step 3:  Cut the window sheet to be slightly larger then the window pane openings.  Die cut the window out.

Step 4:  Ink blend over the water and sand to fully color the card layer.

Step 5:  Stamp beach grass in green on the sandy beach creating realism.

Step 6: Stamp the Sin City Beach Life Guard Stand and cut out.  (I used my electronic cutting machine for this step.)

Step 7:  I cut out the inside of the stand legs using a cutting blade and ruler.

Step 8: Color in the stamped image to make it look weathered.

Step 9:  Stamp a sea bird in black so that it will be seen through the window pane.  Tape the window sheet to the back of the window die cut. Using foam tape affix beach stand to layer.

Step 10: Using a double layer of foam tape to affix the window die over the card layer creating depth and realism to the scene.

Step 11:  Stamp sentiment to a co-coordinating banner and use foam tape to secure under window.

I think this mix and match approach to creating cards has opened many doors to new and exciting possibilities. (Can't wait to buy more Sin City Stamps!)
