Vintage Slim Romantic Card

Greetings!  Today I am excited to share my tag I created to go along with this month's challenge  theme at Blank Page Muse which is ROMANCE! I admit I was inspired by all the vintage goodness that was created for last month's challenge.  I also decided to hop on the slim line card trend and make this card slim!

To recreate this card you will need:

Other Supplies - Distress Inks, Water Color Markers (to stamp images), Card stock, Tag, patterned paper, and ribbon

Start by creating your slim card.  Cut a piece of white card stock to 7 x 8 1/2 inches.  Score and fold to create a 3 1/2 x 8 1/2 inch card. Cut a piece of patterned paper slightly smaller than your card base and adhere to your card.

Using Blank Page Muse Rose Flower with Leaves Art Rubber Stamp by Terri Sproul, color stamp with markers and stamp repeatedly onto your tag.

I just love the vintage look of this tag!  Stamp Blank Page Muse LOVE Fancy Word Art Rubber Stamp Small onto bottom of your tag.   Mat your tag onto cardstock.

Add matted tag to your card and finish with a satin-y ribbon to complete that vintage look!

Water color book mark with the Misti tool

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my book mark tutorial made for Sin City stamps blog.

This is one of my first attempts with Misti and my very first attempt with water color markers and I made it in my own and different stamping way as you can see in my small tutorial.

Product list:

Sin City stamps - Natural Beauty stamp set

Other products:
Misti Stamping tool
Water color paper
Spectrum Noir markers
Black archival ink
Black cardstock
Twine and a bead
Baby wipes

Step by step tutorial:

1. Arrange the water color paper and the stamp in the Misti tool. Cover the stamp with pink and green water color markers. Wipe the paper with baby wipe and stamp over it.

As you can see it's just the color base and not the fine stamping seen on the paper.

2. Leave the cardstock and the stamp in the same place.
Ink the stamp with black ink and stamp over the water color image.

3. Stamp the leaves with another Sin City stamp in the same way: first the marker color over wiped cardstock and then the black fine image over it.

4. Add more leaves images over the cardstock piece.
Make some without the baby wipe to get another stamped look of the same stamp.
Make masks by stamping with ink on  thin paper and cover the stamped images with these masks.
Now  stamp over the images with the same two steps technique.
P.S. The left piece is just the left over to cover the Misti tool and not to be used as a part of a project.

5. Cut the stamped piece to a book mark size.
Add the black cardstock matting.
Make a hole and tie the bead over the twine.

Best Wishes-Clear acrylic home decor

Hello my dear crafty friends!
Irit is here today and I am going to share my lovely stamped project made from the both sides of an acrylic piece.

*I had some trouble taking a good photo of double sided clear project and as much as I tried this is the best I could achieve. But believe me, the end result is far more gorgeous, shiny and artistic.
When you make one too, you will see how easy and fast it can be made.*

Have fun!

Supply list:

Other products:
Acrylic tile- 6 x 6'' and a smaller one for the sentiment
Black pigmented ink
Clear embossing powder
Mix of achohol ink
Alcohol blending solution
Alcohol ink felt applicator
Gold acrylic paint
Clear adhesive

Step by step directions:

1. Stamp the three butterflies randomly over the 6"x6" acrylic tile. Use black pigmented ink and clear embossing powder. You can also use any kind of solvent permanent ink (Staz- On) over the acrylic surface, but the heat embossed effect looks much better.

2. Stamp the ferns and the flowers from the back side of your acrylic tile. Use the same ink and heat emboss in the same way as the front of the tile.

3. Apply a mix of alcohol inks (3 to 4 colors, not more) using felt applicator. Apply the inks on one side only- you pick the side. Add a few drops of alcohol blending solution for the effect. Repeat this step until you are happy with the colors.

4. Stamp the Best Wishes sentiment on the small acrylic tile using the same technique as on previous steps.
Paint the back side of the stamped sentiment with gold acrylic paint. Let the paint dry.

5. Paint the edges of the stamped  tile with gold acrylic paint .
Adhere the stamped Best Wishes sentiment over the front of the tile.

Mixed Media Girls trio

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome!
Irit is here again and this is my second February tutorial for you.

Today I am going to share small art pieces made with small  boards using 3 similar but totally different Sin City stamps in 3 different color schemes.
The only paint I used here are mists and  I wanted to show you my most favorite way to add stamped images to textured surfaces.

Product list:
Sin City stamps
Face profile line art
Classic face 3/4 view line art
Face 3/4 view strand of hair
Natural Beauty word phrase
Happy Birthday phrase
Old style key Dream word

Other products:
Mixed Media boards- chipboards or sturdy cardboard.
Stencils
Texture paste Clear
Crackle paste
Black permanent ink
Color ink mists
Tissue paper
Ribbon, wool, yarn
Scissors
White gesso
Gel medium

Step by step instructions:
1. Cover three boards with white gesso and let it dry.

2. Add a thick layer of Clear texture paste using three different small stencils. Use a different stencil on each board.

3. Remove the stencils. The paste becomes clear when dry.

4. Cover the edges of each board with white crackle paste. Again, the magic word: Let it dry!
You see the crackles when it's dry, not before.

5. Stamp all three face stamps using permanent black ink onto white tissue paper.

6. Tear each stamped image apart and glue over the boards as shown with Gel medium over and under the stamped piece.

7. Glue the " hair" to each image: the ribbon, yarn and the natural wool . The colors don't  matter as we cover the hair with a thick layer of white gesso.

8. Mist each board with different colors. Pick the colors that fit the stamped image mood. For this pretty, but angry lady, a vintage mix of colors was the best choice.

9. Mist the second board with some shabby, dreamy colors.

 10. Mist the last board with a mix of lovely pastel colors.

11.Stamp the sentiments for each board in the same  black ink and tissue way.
Natural beauty was the best sentiment for the "angry" lady.
Dream key was the choice for the second one.
For the bright board stamp " Happy Birthday" sentiment and tear the word Happy.
Glue all words with Gel Medium.

I really hope that you liked my small art pieces (bigger than ATC, but not the card size).
You can also buy almost all of the stamps in this Natural Beauty sheet of rubber.
 See you again next month!

A Jump Start on Christmas Cards

Hi Chris here and today I am sharing this fun Christmas Card.
Supplies Needed:
Sin City Stamps - Natural Beauty
Photo Paper
Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Stormy Sky, Weathered Wood, Forest Moss, Peeled Paint
Ribbon
Tag: Recollections
Card Stock

To create my back ground I started by stamping my Stormy Sky and Weathered Wood ink pads onto my Craft sheet and spritzing it with water.

I then laid my photo paper glossy side down into the ink.  Here is the result

I used my heat gun to dry the ink. I then inked my branch stamp with Forest Moss and Peeled Paint. I stamped multiple times to create my "tree". I stamped the image two or three times before reinking to created branches in the background. I then heat set my stamping.
I matted my stamped page onto card stock and added a ribbon.
I then tied on my tag with my hand written greeting and matted the whole thing onto my card. HOpe you enjoyed this project!

Love Anniversary Card

Hi!  Chris here sharing this sweet LOVE card.  I LOVE that this card mixes 3 different stamp sets and yet they all look like they belong together!  So let us get started.

Supplies:
Sin City Stamps: Art Journaling 2 (script, love)
                          Natural Beauty (flower)
                          Classic Spark (diamond background)
Paper: Pacon MultiMedia Paper
          Core'dinations Cardstock
Ink: Ranger -  Archival (Jet Black)
                  - Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Old paper, Spiced Marmalade, Rusty Hinge
                  - Tim Holtz Distress Markers - Shabby Shutters, Black Soot, Tea Dye, Iced Spruce,     Wild Honey
Water Brush
Ribbon -  Ranger Tim Holtz Crinkle Ribbon

To start off I stamped my background piece using the Script stamps from the Art Journaling 2 collection and the Old Paper Distress Ink.  The stamp wasn't quite large enough for my background piece so I just overlapped the stamping on the edges.

I then stamped the script using the Classic Spark Diamond background using my Jet Black Archival Ink.  I then matted the stamped background onto black cardstock and set it aside. (sorry I did not take a picture at this stage)

My next stamp was to stamp this amazing flower from the Natural Beauty collection using Archival Ink.  Make sure you use a waterproof ink at this step since we will be coloring this in with a water brush.

I started by coloring in the leaves using the Shabby Shutters Distress marker (see the picture on the left side) I then added some depth to my coloring by adding a darker marker - the Iced Spruce Marker. I gently brushed over the coloring with a water brush to help bend the inks a bit.

For the Flower I started by coloring in the center with my Tea Dye marker. I then added  some touches of Wild Honey Marker to the flower.  I then stamped my Spiced Marmalade and Rusty Hinge ink pads onto my Craft sheet.

I used my water brush to pick up those colors and shading to my flower. You can see the shading below.

I then matted my completed flower onto card stock and added it to my background piece.

To create the matching ribbon I started by adding some water to my leftover ink on my Kraft sheet and mixing it all together.

I then spritzed my white crinkle ribbon with water and then swirled it around in the ink.

This is what my ribbon looked like after dying!  And since I used the same colors I used for stamping it coordinated perfectly!

To add my sentiment I used the Things I Love stamp from the Art Journaling 2 Collection.  Since I only needed the LOVE portion of the stamp I used my Black Soot Distress marker to ink only that word .

I then matted my sentiment and attached it and the ribbon to my card!  I hope you enjoyed my project and decide to give at least one of the techniques a try!
