A Trio of Snowmen

Happy Holidays! Today I have created 3 ornaments for Blank Page Muse this month. I love making ornaments and they make great gifts when visitors stop by around the holidays.

Supplies

Metal Tree ornament
Stickles
Shrink Plastic
Paper Mache round ornament shape
Dimensional Texture paint

I like using found items and recycling them or using items and dressing them up. I bought this metal tree ornament a while ago and found it when I was looking through my Christmas box. I used the Snowman image from the Snowman Snowglobe and cut him down then glued him to the tree. I then used Stickles for some sparkle.

This next ornament was made with Shrink Plastic.
Here is a quick tip to use the Inkjet Shrink Plastic and resizing images for ornaments.

This ornament is on a paper mache round base, I covered the base with texture paint for a snowy look than when it was almost dry, I liberally applied glue and placed the snowman on the ornament.

Ornaments are so fun to make and make great gifts for any time during the holiday season!

Penguin Ornaments

Hi everyone, are you getting ready for Christmas?

I've created a fun set of ornaments today.

Supplies:

Blank Page Muse Stamp: Classic Christmas Stamp Set
Blank Page Muse Stamp: Penguins on Ice Winter Holiday Stamp Sheet
White, Green and Red cardstock
Coloring Medium:  Copics
Dies:  Spellbinders

Instructions:

Stamp and die cut the penguins using Spellbinders circle dies.

Color portions of the image with Copic Markers
Mat with red cardstock and add to Christmas ornaments
Add Noel to the reverse side

Add Nuvo Crystal Drops to the ornaments giving them a bit more shimmer and shine.

Add twine  to the ornament so they can be hung from the tree.  I think they'd even look sweet hanging from a Christmas package don't you?

Thanks for stopping by.

Steph

Wood Slice Christmas Ornaments

Hello! Glad you came by the Blank Page Muse Blog today. Kelly has some wood slice ornaments to show you and they are super cute and quick to make! They can be used on packages like a tag or ornament.

Country Vintage Christmas stamp set by Pam Bray was used to create these ornaments along with Tombow markers, Stickles, white gel pen, VersaFine Clair Ink, ribbon, and bakers twine.

Using the dove, Santa, and snowman stamps and VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne, stamp the images directly on the wood slice.

Then using the Tombow markers and white gel pen, color the images in your choice of colors.

When you are finished coloring the images, use the Stickles add glitter to the ornaments then drill a hole in the top of each ornament and add the ribbon or twine.

These make great teacher gifts too!!

Crafting Christmas Ornaments with the Kids!

Hello!  Susie on the blog today and I have a couple of quick and easy Christmas ornaments to share with you today!

Our theme this month is 3D Holiday Ornaments - with *SPARKLE*!
One of our family traditions over the years has been to make Christmas ornaments with the kids.  They need to be fast and easy, but also allow for individual creative input.  Head on over to the local craft store and pick up a couple of those inexpensive plastic ornaments - the ones that pull apart so you can fill them - and pull out your winter themed stamps!

Time to play...

Supplies:
Child Riding a Sled Winter Line Art Rubber Stamp
Two Children Riding a Sled Winter Fun Rubber Stamp
Plastic Ornaments
Acetate Sheet
Archival ink, black
Stamping platform
Sharpie Markers
Spray adhesive
Silver Glitter
Faux snow
Washi tape

Directions:

  • Stamp on acetate with permanent black ink.  I recommend using a stamping platform for this as it minimizes the possibility of smears.

  • After the ink dries, color on the back side of the design with permanent ink markers. (I used Sharpies - they come in so many colors now!)

  • When you are finished cut the acetate to fit inside the ornament. (They usually come with a template just for this purpose!)

  • Place your stamped image inside the ornament and seal it up with some sparkly faux snow!

And here it is on the tree!

Using the same basic idea I created a slightly different style ornament.

  •  Stamp image on acetate with permanent black ink, color and cut to size.

  • Protect the edges of the back side of the ornament with tape.

  • Spray the inside of the back half of the ornament with adhesive and then quickly add glitter. Tap out the excess and wait for it to dry.  (It just takes a few minutes!)

  • Remove the protective tape, add the stamped image and the sparkly faux snow before sealing it up.

It adds all kinds of sparkle and shine to your tree!

These are easy enough to be made with kids of all ages, although it is always a good idea to supervise the young ones when glitter is involved! The best part is that when they are done, you can use the Sharpie markers to personalize the outside of the plastic ornaments with the date and name of your young artist! You can add a new design every year!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you find some time to play today!

Snow Globe Holiday Ornament

Holiday Greeting to you!   I love snow globes and couldn't wait to try my hand at creating a shaker box ornament.

Supplies Needed

Snow Globe Shaker Box
Crop a dile or hole punch
Ink- embossing, Black
Gold Embossing Powder
Glimmer Mist
Glitter

Start by stamping and embossing flourish from Blank Page Muse Art Journaling #2 Rubber Stamp Set by Terri Sproul onto snow globe. Emboss with gold embossing powder.  Spray with Glimmer Mist.
While drying, stamp Blank Page Muse Penguins on Ice Winter Holiday Rubber Stamp Sheet  onto card stock and color as desired. Adhere to snow globe base. Adhere inner pieces of shadow box, punching a hole for holder in top of each piece.

Add glitter then transparency. Finish with dry shaker top.  You can see how "snowy" the inside of my globe is.

Finish ornament with bow and tie.

Shaker Holiday Ornament

Hello, hello. Samantha here with  the first of two fun and easy holiday ornaments to share with you.
Be sure to use code BPMDtSamantha2019 to save 15% off of your order!

You will need the following:

Cut two of the chipboard circles into frame shapes using a basic circle die. Paint the frames and chipboard circles with gold paint. Keep one of the circle and frame pairs for later.

Stamp and heat emboss the ice skating stamp onto your circle.

After using hot glue to attach a ribbon line the outer edge of the circle in foam tape and the inner edge of the frame in double sided adhesive. Remove the backing from the double sided adhesive and adhere your acetate. Fill the well created by the foam tape on the circle with gems, sequins, beads, or anything else you'd like.

Press the frame onto the foam tape and that's it.

Thank you so much for stopping by. Make sure you're subscribed so that you won't miss style 2 of my holiday ornaments.
Until next time,
Samantha

Angelic Mermaid Ornament

Hi BPM Fans!!

It's December and Xmas is looming ever closer!!!

Hope you are enjoying our Quick Makes and Xmas ornaments so far this month!

I'm sharing a stamped fabric ornament - it's a little bit fiddly but so worth the effort when you see the end result!

Supplies:
Blank Page Muse Stamp: Kai Lana Mermaid designed by Stephanie Eaton
Scraps Calico Fabric
Brown or Black Ink Pad
Coloured Pencils
Sewing Machine
Stuffing/Hobby Fill
Sparkly flower ornament or puffy wings etc.
Fishing Line
Tools: strong clear glue, scissors, large eye needle, chopstick or poker to push stuffing in!

Instructions:
Stamp "Kai Lana" onto the calico fabric with the brown ink pad and colour with coloured pencils. Colour to match your Xmas theme!

Layer the stamped coloured fabric piece onto another piece of scrap calico and using your sewing machine sew all around the stamped image (through both layers of fabric) as shown in the photo and trim as shown below.

Next step is to separate the two layers of fabric so you can carefully snip a slit in the back layer. Use this slit to add stuffing and use a chopstick or the like to push into the cavity.

Use your needle and fishing line to make a loop for hanging the ornament.

Use your strong glue to attach the wings. For this project I used the "petals" from some sparkly gold tree ornaments. This step covers the slit in the back of the ornament - saving you from having to sew it up!

Your angelic mermaid is now ready for hanging on your tree!

Seasons Greetings
