Wish it, Dream it, DO IT!

Hi Stamping & Crafting Fans

Hope you have all made time for stamping and creating this month!

I have another mixed media creation to share today in one of my journals.

I've used washi tape to make a background - I've used this technique before on my journal pages - washi and gesso vertically on the page in strips - this time I've used the washi horizontally after watching my local lady (where I go for classes!) create a journal page using washi.

Stamps and stencils used:
Cat Bowl Half Circle Stencil designed by Donna Gray
Cross Stitch X Stencil designed by Stephanie Eaton

Masking Tape "Make Over"!!!

 Hi Stamping Fans!

Hope everyone is well and getting to enjoy some time for stamping & crafting!

Here in Australia it's Winter which means I get more time to create and play with all my rubber stamps and excess crafting items!

Today I have some homemade "washi tape" to share with you using masking tape, paint and of course stamps available in store!

I started with strips of masking tape - I used a piece of acetate to lay the masking tape on - keeps the "sticky" and also I didn't have to worry about the excess paint and stamping!

This is so easy to do - you can use any colored paint and any of your fav background, pattern and filler stamps to decorate. You can rip it up or use in strips as is - perfect for all your mixed media creations!

Currently I'm in a vintage, monochrome "mood" so I've been doing a lot of creating with neutral and brown tones in my journals and altered art creations!

Stamps used:
Vintage Tape Measure & Reel Stamps

Wonderland ATC's

Hi Stamping Fans!

Today I'm sharing some ATC's!
I haven't "played" with these Alice in Wonderland Stamps for quite some time
 - these 2 stamps are from Set 2.

I created washi tape backgrounds and added gesso and ink sprays along with the stamped images and wording from an old "Through the Looking Glass" book!

Paper Dolls

Hello crafty friends! Kelly Parker on the blog today with Blank Page Muse using several of their people and photobooth stamps which are listed below.  I love using people and face stamps, they are so versatile and a fun way to make all kinds of projects!

Supplies -

Various pieces of collage papers
 - gelli prints
 - magazine pages
 - old book pages
 - washi tape
 - stickers
White Cardstock
Versafine Clair Ink

Stamp out the images onto the white cardstock, draw a body and cut out the images. Stamp the Vintage Lady and Steampunk Gentleman, cut out the wings for use on the dolls.

Glue assorted papers to the bodies of the dolls and embellish with stickers, lace, washi tape, sequins, and hats. At this stage, you can use anything you want to decorate and embellish your dolls. You can also use a paint pen to create more texture and marks on each doll. When you are finished, you can ink the edges with a crayon, ink pad or pen or even do some stitching on the body of the doll.

Here is each doll up close, Enjoy!!

Lady and Lace ATC

Hello! Today I am on the blog with Blank Page Muse and an ATC (Artist Trading Card) that I created with their ATC sized stamps!

Supplies used -

White cardstock
Purple Cosmic Shimmer
Washi Tape
TCW Gold Modeling Paste
Old book page
Twine

Lots of how-to pictures on using Comic Shimmer check out my Flamingo Card using Blank Page Muse stamps

To start this card, I used Cosmic Shimmer on the table and dragged my cardstock through the colors several times, drying the card a bit before each drag through. I let this dry then glued it to another piece of cardstock for some stability. Then stamping the image of the Lady and Lace on the front of the card then trimmed it down to 2 1/2" by 3 1/2" and rounded the corners. I then tore some washi tape in several colors and add this to the bottom of the card along with a small piece of old book page.

I then used the Slimline Stars Stencil and taped off one of the stars and added it to the top right of the card with gold modeling paste and wrapped some twine around the bottom of the card.

Woodland ATCoins

Hello crafty friends, Kelly on the blog today with Blank Page Muse

I used several of the Woodlands stamp set by Donna Gray to create a set of ATC Coins.

Supplies -

Gelli prints
Markers
Watercolors
Washi Tape
2 1/2" circle punch

These ATCoins were punched from gelli printed papers and the support is a cereal box. I glued this sandwich together with the ATC Coin Artist ID stamp, then stamped the Woodlands critters onto white cardstock and colored them with markers. I use watercolors and washi tape to enhance the critters. Fussy cut out all of the critters and then glued them down to the coin front. I now have coins ready for trading!

Classic & Elegant Poinsettia Holiday Card

I love red poinsettias, but can never make them live past Christmas. When I saw the humongous poinsettia bushes in Kona, Hawaii, I was convinced that they like warmer weather. I'm sharing today the beautiful poinsettia and sentiment stamps from Blank Page Muse Art Rubber Stamps called Classic Christmas Stamp Set by Pam Bray Designs

I'll be showing you how to make your own beautiful patterned paper with some scraps and washi tape then showcasing your card with the beautiful colored poinsettia stamp. I hope this inspires you to try make your own card and entering it in our monthly challenge, "Holiday Play."

All the supplies and instructions are listed below to make this A2 size card.

Supplies:

  • Black cardstock strips - Cut to ½” x 7” (Cut 3)
  • Black cardstock strips - Cut to 1/2" x 5” (Cut 4)
  • 3mm wide gold washi tape

Red: R39, R46, R43, R30
Green: G28, G05, YG03

Instructions:
  • Stamp two of the poinsettias, color, and fussy cut. Set aside.
  • To make the background paper, using the 4" x 5-1/4" mat, lay out the black cardstock strips 1/4 inch apart. Start in the middle and work your way to the outside corners. Adhere to the card front.

  • Turn your cardstock to the back and use scissors to trim off the excess black strips.
  • Adhere the gold washi tape in between each black stripe making sure that you have an overhang of 1/4" to fold to the back.
  • Using the 4" square white cardstock, cut out a 3" square with the die.
  • Using the other 4" square white cardstock, nest the 3" and 2-1/2" dies to cut out a frame.
  •  Add gold washi tape around the frame. Adhere the frame to the 3" mat then adhere onto the card front.
  • Adhere the poinsettias.
  • Adhere the card front onto the base cardstock.
  • Stamp the sentiment on white cardstock and trim to size. Use black cardstock to mat the sentiment and adhere to the card front.

  • Using a glitter pen, add some glitter to the centers and tips of the poinsettias.
  • Using a white gel pen, add some accent dots to the poinsettias.

I hope you give this card a try. It's a great way to use up your scrap cardstock and it's easy and fun! Thank you for stopping by! ~Betty~

Washi Tape Card & Envelope Gift Set

Hello, hello! Happy July, everyone! Did you know that it is never too early to get started on making your holiday gifts?
Today I'm going to share a super easy gift idea with you; washi tape cards and coordinating envelopes. You'll be amazed by how quickly it all comes together!

(Remember to use code BPMDtSamantha2019 to save 15% off at checkout!)

You will need:
Let's get started!

Beginning at the top left corner of one of your card bases begin layering your washi tape. Continue until you reach about the half way point.

Trim off excess.

Repeat on remaining three card bases, alternating corners and washi tape.

Mask your card up to the edge of the washi tape.

Using your black pigment ink stamp the floral motif stamp onto the wash tape several times. Heat emboss with clear embossing powder. Repeat for remaining three cards.

Remove your masking paper and stamp your sentiment onto the  white space of your card in an ink that matches your washi tape.  Repeat for all cards.

Stamp the flaps of your envelopes as well.

That's all! I hope that you'll give my idea a try. I cannot wait to see what you make with your Blank Page Muse stamps!

Until next time,
Samantha
