AUTHOR: Alyson Williams
Alyson Williams is the head of Communities of Practice and Publications section in the Latin American, Caribbean and European Division at the Library of Congress. She oversees two exemplary projects (the Handbook of Latin American Studies and the PALABRA Archive) that have cultivated robust community engagement from researchers and authors who generate content and context to highlight Library collection items for a broader audience. Before joining the Library of Congress in 2023, Alyson gained over 10 years of supervisory library experience, managing teams that work with communities of practice at Dumbarton Oaks and the Inter-American Development Bank. She holds a master’s degree in library and information studies, a master’s degree in Latin American, Caribbean and Iberian Studies, and a certificate in European Studies, all from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
