Even with everything that's come to pass (and all that's not), you've still gotta feel at least a little awestruck in the face of good ol' fashioned E-vil. When it continues to inspire addictively raw, foundational BM at this level of achievement. Symphonic keys and earworm flourishes in support of throwback bangers sporting tremolo riffs-upon-riffs-upon-riffs: sure, Nächtlich didn't get here first—but they sure as hell go all the way there. Ungodly good time. Wicked catchy. BM AOTY.

Man, this is some flat out foul death doom metal. Crushingly heavy and intimidating. The whole album oozes a thick and murky atmosphere that will leave you feeling hypoxic and catatonic. Do what you can to brace yourself against this torrent of sludge and slime. 8/10
