Debut album by Autopsy, a band created by Chris Reiffert, after leaving Death. The album was very influential for future death metal acts. It was also a pioneer of gore lyrics and one of the first examples of the death/doom genre, although it is more death metal than death/doom. Lyrically the band thrives heavily on horror and gore concepts. All the songs have a great atmosphere, they’re played with an almost punkish attitude.

This is a band request, that i really enjoyed listening. After a demo in 2010, Nachzehrer released this 'Ep containing 6 songs. What the band is playing here, is extremely competent and pure black metal at breakneck speed. There is a strong thrash element to proceedings but it is amorphous and hard to grasp. The production is quite clear but definitely not sterile.

The band has slowed down in tempo, that much is clear, but the record still makes room for folky passages with mandolins and bouzouki, interweaving with acoustic and distorted guitars.

All of it blows by very quickly, with 27 songs in just over 27 minutes in length and songs generally clock in at less than a minute in length with a few gems in the couple of seconds range. TFD throw a lot of different influences and sounds into their style. Some of the songs sound like crossover thrash songs, some songs sound like they could be punk songs, some are typical grindcore and some songs sound like they are rock songs with blastbeats.

Debut album by Children. A very interesting and an enjoyable debut, which relies on melodic progressive power/thrash to pull it through. The compositions are long (6-9min) and the expected numerous time and tempo changes are all over them, neither of them overdone and the good thing is that the pace is energetic and fast-paced more than rarely. The vocalist searches for a very chaotic style of screaming, howling, grunting (not in a death metal way though).

2nd album by Heavy Load. The production is of course not up to today's standards, but back in 1982 this was more then good enough. The songs blends heavy guitars with melodic vocal melodies. With simple chords and some typical rhythm section backing some weird vocals, they succeeded in building a unique primitive atmosphere a few bands did repeat ever since. A classic, epic masterpiece!

2nd album by Entombed. Like 'Left Hand Path' the brutality and heaviness is still present, but on this album there seems to be a bit more melody in the songs and catchier riffs with more hooks. Entombed's most distinguishing characteristics during period, their buzzsaw guitar riffs and varied tempos, are showcased well here. Drummer/songwriter Nicke Andersson takes over vocalist Lars-Göran Petrov, who is missing in action here.
