Atomkraft - Future Warriors

Genre: NWOBHM
Country: England
Year: 1985

1. Future Warriors
2. Starchild
3. Dead Man’s Hands
4. Total Metal
5. Pour The Metal In
6. Death Valley
7. This Planet’s Burning
8. Warzone
9. Burn In Hell
10. Heat And Pain

Debut album by Atomkraft, a band that usually is ''accused'' for its similarity to Venom. This album holds up fairly well, demonstrating high quality of NWOBHM. Their lyrics don't dabble in the occult so much as science fiction or observations on our world.

Moonsorrow - Suden Uni

Genre: Black/Folk/Pagan
Country: Finland
Year: 2001

1. Ukkosenjumalan Poika
2. Koylionjarven Jaalla (Pakanavedet II)
3. Kuin Ikuinen
4. Tuulen Koti, Aaltojen Koti
5. Pakanajuhla
6. 1065: Aika
7. Suden Uni

The debut album by Moonsorrow is generally more folky melodic black metal sounding and baring a large resemblance to their fellow brethren in Finntroll, which was only natural since Henri Sorvali plays in both bands. The production is good but still rougher than later in their career, enhancing the already dusky atmosphere. Lyrical themes consist mainly of Finnish paganism, bloody battles of old times and nature’s might.

The Haunted - The Haunted

Genre: Thrash/Death
Country: Sweden
Year: 1998

1. Hate Song
2. Chasm
3. In Vein
4. Undead
5. Choke Hold
6. Three Times

9. Shattered
10. Soul Fracture
11. Blood Rust
12. Forensick

Debut album by The Haunted, the band that was formed by 3 ex-At The Gates members, after their split up. The band basically continued in the same style of Slaughter Of The Soul. The band's obvious '80s Bay Area thrash influence shines through the riffs, yet it still retains the 'At The Gates' sense of melody, that the Björler brothers made their own.

A Tortured Soul - Lucifer's Fate

3rd album by A Tortured Soul. Behind a modern production, this band honors the '80s era with their riffs and melodies. They are taking their influences from heavy, US power and doom. Enchanting melodies, various types of beats and the occasional howls of singer Rick Black are the main advantages of the band.

Iced Earth - Dystopia

Genre: Heavy/Power
Country: U.S.A.
Year: 2011

1. Dystopia
2. Anthem
3. Boiling Point
4. Anguish of Youth
5. V
6. Dark City
7. Equilibrium
8. Days Of Rage
9. End Of Innocence
10. Soylent Green
11. Iron Will
12. Tragedy And Triumph

10th album by Iced Earth. Stu Block is the replacement of Matt Barlow behind the mic and he is doing a wonderful job. He has his own distinct high pitched vocals, but in many cases he steps into Barlow's territories. What we have here is a band that is getting straight to the point with tight, iron clad songs with huge anthemic choruses and their furious trademark gallops.
