Suidakra - Lupine Essence

Genre: Black/Death/Epic
Country: Germany
Year:1997

1. Banshee
2. Dragon Tribe
3. Heresy
4. Sheltering Dreams
5. Havoc
6. Warpipes Call Me
7. ...And A Minstrel Left The Mourning Valley
8. Internal Epidemic

This is the self-released debut album by Suidakra. It blends elements of medieval/epic, melodic death and black metal quite nicely. The clean male and female vocal work does offer a somewhat melancholy gothic tinge to what is otherwise a very epic and aggressive offering. The production is a bit raw, but it delivers the medieval feeling very well.

12. Leech Eclipse
13. Fever Landscapes

Debut album by Lock Up, a grind supergroup that in '99 was consisting of Peter Tagtgren, Shane Embury, Jesse Pintado and Nicholas Barker. From start to finish, this record is just a totally cacophonous, outrageous, blasting demonstration of how death/grind should be done. This is pure violence through great songs, always inspired and catchy. This is pure brutality looking always to the past. 30 minutes of speed, brutality and inspiration.

Debut album by Aherusia. The band’s sound is very rich and presents us with a very interesting atmosphere created by the distorted guitars and a cretan lyra, which gives the band that folkish sound, but with a distinctive black metal edge. The overall musical composition of the songs features a wide variety of changes as well as keyboard arrangements that takes the band’s sound to a whole different level. Vocal wise, the band utilizes the traditional harsh vocals, but also combine clean vocals.
