Goatwhore - Carving Out The Eyes Of God

Genre: Black/Thrash/Death
Country: U.S.A.
Year: 2009

1. Apocalyptic Havoc
2. The All-Destroying
3. Carving Out The Eyes Of God
4. Shadow Of A Rising Knife
5. Provoking The Ritual Of Death
6. In Legions, I Am Wars Of Wrath
7. Reckoning Of The Soul Made Godless
8. This Passing Into The Power Of Demons
9. Razor Flesh Devoured
10. To Mourn And Forever Wander Through Forgotten Doorways

4th album by Goatwhore. The band's sound takes in elements of black metal, death metal and thrash metal to create a uniquely mix of skin-flaying riffage, hyper-speed drumming and roaring vocals. The black metal influence is obvious as several tracks contain a heavy norwegian black metal riffing and blasting style, along with the higher pitched rasps of Ben Falgoust II (Soilent Green). The death/thrashing is very infectious and it quickly becomes impossible to ignore the catchiness of the fun chugging riffs.

Country: U.S.A.
Year: 2012

1. Letting Go
2. Kicking
3. Walk it Off
4. Reverse Inverted
5. In Pieces
6. Snakes Are Charmed
7. Sky Trials

9. Skin Moth
10. Kiss Me Dudely
11. Solitary Traveler
12. Harmonicraft
13. Looking On

3rd album by Torche, 4 years after their last one. This album could only be described as sludge pop or stoner pop. Now, this isn’t saying they’ve lost the metal edge or the heaviness, no, what they have done though is really allowed the melodies and pop sensibilities to flourish. A really smoothy album, with varieties in tempos and happy melodies all over it!

Vintersorg - Orkan

Genre: Progr.Black/Folk/Viking
Country: Sweden
Year: 2012

1. Istid
2. Ur Stjärnstoft Är Vi Komna
3. Polarnatten
4. Myren
5. Orkan
6. Havets Nåd
7. Norrskenssyner
8. Urvädersfången

8th album by Vintersorg and the second part in a planned elemental quadrilogy. The songs are too complex to be memorized by listening to them only once. This time the duo combined the essences of their early, pagan-inspired albums and their later work, that dealt more with science and the cosmos. A very good combination of epic, oftentimes catchy melodies with many progressive parts.
