Skálmöld - Ýdalir

Genre: Viking/Heavy
Country: Iceland
Year: 2023

1. Ýr
2. Ýdalir
3. Urður

5. Verðandi
6. Veðurfölnir
7. Skuld
8. Níðhöggur

6th album by Skalmold, 5 years after their last one. It is an exceptionally solid collection of tracks that bounce between various points in the metal spectrum, but always retain the mysticism that the band have harboured throughout their career. they write songs about Icelandic tales and mythology and although the songs are sung in their native tongue the music just takes you away.

2. Hraun Og ástríða
3. Aska Sigursæl

Misþyrming - Með Hamri

Genre: Black
Country: Iceland
Year: 2022

1. Með Hamri
2. Með Harmi
3. Engin Miskunn
4. Engin Vorkunn
5. Blóðhefnd
6. Aftaka

3rd album by Misþyrming. They followed a straightforward attempt and recorded the album on live environment, and as a result the album has a raw beauty, a scraggly surface in complete contrast with their previous aforementioned effort 'Algleymi' ,that was grandiose, with very big and clean sounding. A black metal gem!

Year: 2019

2nd album by Misþyrming. The group has developed its sound from the raw and chaotic sound of the debut for a much more complex, controlled and even refined style, this is by no means a negative. The songs are just as fast and aggressive but there’s now an added layer of dark atmospheres and the guitar work takes more prominence in the form of melodies and riffing.

Debut album by Under The Church, that features two ex-Nirvana 2002 members. These pioneer veterans have released a great death metal album, that demands the attention of any death metal fan out there. Undoubtedly there will be tons of comparisons to Dismember and Entombed, but while they share the same buzz saw guitar sound and punk influenced compositions, they are far from copy cats.

3. Enslaved By Fear
4. No One Above
5. Heretics
6. Bloodlust

Debut album by Beneath. The band managed to deliver a powerful, relentless and vicious debut album. The drums are incredibly powerful and very well-produced, but remain in the back giving space for the guitarwork.

24. - untitled track -

After some demos and splits, Forgardur Helvitis released their debut album. The album hits all the expected notes: the blastbeats are on point, the riffs have a distinctive Scandinavian air and the vocals are impassioned. The songs are short, heavy, loud and fast, almost grindcore, but with guitars and vocals reminiscent of a rudimentary black metal, even more full of anti-religious lyrics and D.I.Y. attitude.
