Árbol de manzanas doradas
El jardín de las Hespérides es el huerto de Hera en el oeste, donde crece un árbol, que produce manzanas dorada que otorgan inmortalidad al comerse. Los árboles fueron plantados de las ramas frutales que Gea dio a Hera como regalo de bodas. Las Hespérides tenían la tarea de cuidar la arboleda, pero ocasionalmente tomaban manzanas para sí mismas. No fiándose de ellas, Hera también situó en el jardín un dragón de cien cabezas que no duerme, llamado Ladón como guardián adicional.
