Was looking back at my early 2022 art yesterday, and in stories I showed off some of my painted paper collage, and they really inspired me to experiment with a more collage like style in digital art as well!! This was made using Photoshop and just my mouse (no drawing stylus or anything like that) and I basically just used the polygonal lasso tool to make the shapes and then did clipping masks with different textures I've scanned through the years! So I’ve become completely in love with a new technique, and that technique is papercut collage. I paint sheets of paper with acrylic or watercolour paint (a few times I’ve even used old paintings that I don’t like) and then cut those into the shapes I need and collage it together. IT’S SO MUCH FUN.
