Family Theme Idea

Family is a developmentally appropriate topic for preschoolers because it's about them and easily relatable. Here's how I teach families of the Bible with some of my favorite preschool activities and crafts.

A fun way to share a little about each child's family. The color coded key would be fund for the students to use to create their home strip. It can hang in our outside the classroom. Great for open house. Also a fun way in September to get to know each student.

On Day 2 we read "What Mommies and Daddies do Best" by Laura Numeroff. Then we share connections about our parents or guardians. I also love to read Weird Parents by Wood. This is a funny story about parents who love to embarrass their children. (one of my favorite things to do) After reading and connecting, we make our parents and/or guardians. We also do this sort below with Parent/Children or Both.
