Simply cut a few circles out of cardboard, draw the eyes within the top half and the mouth within the bottom, then cut in half. We attempted to put them together correctly first, and then mixed and matched to explore what other emotions they looked like they might be feeling. I knew this would pair perfectly with the book “When Cucumber Lost His Cool” which we recently received from @scholastic_au. This story is about Kevin the Cucumber who is always super cool. He helps all his friends when they’re feeling shy, worried and insecure, until one day he faces some difficult emotions himself. I was not sure what kind of puzzle to start with as he is yet to identify objects, fruits, veggies etc and yet to relate to them. So I decided to make my own frugal puzzle with bright attractive colours and simple basic shapes. I used cardboard scraps, bottle caps and colour paper to make this. This is really simple and took me just one nap…
