This is a fun Halloween-themed activity that your students are bound to enjoy! This packet contains a recipe, four ingredient labels, and an observation form. You will need the following items: · Miniature cauldrons (available at Oriental Trading & Amazon.com — search for “Candy Kettle”) · Vinegar (“Goblin Drool”) · Glitter (“Fairy Dust” - any color) · Baking soda (“Bone Dust”) · Green food coloring (“Snake venom”) · Measuring cups and spoons · Tray (to catch the mess) · Tape Print out the labels and glue/tape them onto the corresponding ingredient (trim label as needed). Print a copy of the recipe for each student. Have students follow the instructions on the Witches’ Brew recipe to create their own magical potion and watch the reaction! This would make a neat science lesson or life skills lesson (to practice skills such as following a recipe's instructions and measuring). I used it with my students in speech therapy to talk about smells, make predictions, vocabulary (“ingredients”, “measure”, etc.), and work on describing.
