Cassandra Evans (Sunny) // Folk Living on Instagram: "True story: I saved and ironed all the tissue paper from our wedding and it lasted me almost 10 years 😆😅 I’ve always been scrappy, it’s just that now it’s considered more socially acceptable 🙃 We also furnished our apartment and much of our house with secondhand or thrifted items, and I remember getting the strangest looks when I told people that. 😆 But we’ve been self-employed this entire time, not having much at all those first years. It came from the desire to still have a “homey,” home, just with little to no budget. And I eventually learned that I loved the look of older things. Call me crazy, but I would way rather have a home full of curated vintage things than cookie cutter “trendy” stuff that is “outdated” in like 2 yea

Alisha Ing | Fiber Artist on Instagram: "Turn old boxes into the perfect solution for wrapping long gifts! 🎁 Back in April, I shared this hack for shipping long items for my small business, but it works just as well for wrapping longer gifts this holiday season. Perfect for that macrame wall hanging, yoga mat, or any tall, tricky-to-wrap present! What’s the trickiest thing you’ve ever tried to wrap? Let me know in the comments! How to: - Remove old tape from the box - Cut the side flaps in half on both the top and bottom - Fold the box so that the cut flaps overlap - Fold over the remaining flaps and tape to secure!"
Innes Vautier | secondhand, upcycled and handmade home on Instagram: "Save this for later if you want to turn leftover fabric into beautiful ribbon 🎀 Ever feel like you need reams and reams of ribbon at this time of year? Here’s the easiest way to create beautiful, rustic ribbon in just minutes. No sewing needed—just take your fabric, snip the edge, and tear! Yes, tear. The natural frayed edges give the ribbon its charm, and you can customize the width to suit any project. The main thing to be aware of is that fabric won’t tear well in every direction, so you have to make sure you’re tearing parallel to the selvedge (that’s the finished edge of the fabric). I use this hack often because I use a lot of ribbon! It’s perfect for gift-wrapping, floral arrangements, and you could even hang
