Brian Weza’s first solo album, ‘Fizzles’ is constructed from a library of custom spliced tape loops that were created over the span of seven years. The tape loops of ‘Fizzles’ were created as a part of a meditative and holistic approach to maintaining presence, escaping the blue glow of our electronic devices, and discovering the different ways music can soothe the anxieties we face. In some of the pieces, Weza collaged and improvised over these loops for this release.
Weza’s first introduction to ambient cassettes came at a young age as he explored generic box store new age tapes from his mother’s collection, like ‘Celtic Peace’ or ‘Soaring Free’. Although Weza moved on from those sounds, his interest in tapes remained, “Tapes have always been my favorite media– taping off of the radio as a kid, making mixtapes, running a tape label… There is something about the tactility of the media that works for my brain and allows me to play and explore, not going for perfection, but finding magic in the process.”
Weza created his collection of minimal environments during late-night sessions with his Tascam and Fostex four-track cassette recorders, and the various instruments lying around the show houses he has occupied in Chicago, IL. Brian Weza’s ‘Fizzles’ is released Nov 21st, 2025 via We Be Friends Records.

I have been shouting this from the top of my roof for so long so I better say it here too:
Babe, Terror would have a Burialesque reputation if he was born in Western Europe or America. It's an absolute travesty that major music publications wouldn't put any light on this truly groundbreaking music. It is complex beyond anything I have ever heard. If you haven't come across his music before you need to dig into his discography, now! Harsh Agarwal
