about

We’ve been quiet for too long…

This live album was recorded at the final Chaos Festival in 2025, performed in the Peace Tent, a stage and event that’s meant a lot to us over the past 20 years. It’s seen its fair share of chaos, shenanigans, and unforgettable moments with the band and close friends alike.

With our drummer Squirrel off-island, we’re joined by Kieran Smale on drums, fittingly. He supported us with his band RentOclean at our very first gig, so it feels right to have him helping us make some noise again.

Includes Full length video of the set plus bonus photos and posters from the event.

And then came Brunt…

Brunt Having not played together in a few years as soon as they hinted at a possible return I’ll admit to being rather excited to see the instrumental stoner doom trio once again.

With Kieran (previously of RentOClean, The Erberts and others) filling the gap behind the drums left by Squirrel’s move to the UK this was a slightly different band but, while Kieran didn’t bring the laconic groove of Squirrel, his style still fit perfectly with bassist Elliott and guitarist Ave.

A band returning after a few years like this could easily simply wallow in the nostalgia of it all but something about Brunt’s performance here, obviously rather different to most bands as they don’t really directly interact with the audience in speech, didn’t feel like that.

Added to that the audience’s reaction to them, in the suddenly packed Peace Tent, was huge, with heads banging and bodies moving regardless of the almost stifling heat as the waves of fuzz driven heaviness washed over us making for one of the undeniable highlights of the weekend – and all this only days after Elliott was involved in a nasty sounding crash on his motorbike and couldn’t even carry his bass from the car park to the stage!

Brunt Guernsey

"You'll definitely feel the full force of this Guernsey trio. The absence of a vocalist draws your attention to their hypnotic experimental music which ebbs and flows like a strong swamp tide. The music is lead by classic stoner rock riffs, dripping with thick overdrive to create a sludgy fuzzy bluesy sound backed by the solid doom drums/bass grooves of the Mariess brothers." - Vale Earth Festival ... more
