Found an unsecured Google Cloud storage bucket exposing PExL Participation Payment Receipts from Princeton University (Ivy League). Files contained student full names, handwritten signatures, UIDs, and payment amounts.

This was responsibly reported to the university's infosec email; however, I had problems because the email was blocked by administrator rules and I had to report it to people who have nothing to do with infosec.

I didn't get a response from anyone; it was just closed after January 28th.

The surge itself is undeniable. Soon, some schools may have more students receiving accommodations than not, a scenario that would have seemed absurd just a decade ago. Already, at one law school, 45 percent of students receive academic accommodations. Paul Graham Fisher, a Stanford professor who served as co-chair of the university’s disability task force, told me, “I have had conversations with people in the Stanford administration. They've talked about at what point can we say no? What if it hits 50 or 60 percent? At what point do you just say “We can't do this?” This year, 38 percent of Stanford undergraduates are registered as having a disability; in the fall quarter, 24 percent of undergraduates were receiving academic or housing accommodations.

Before the Thanksgiving holiday, one of our customers alerted us to an Evilginx MITM phishing campaign targeting university students and SSO portals. At least 18 American institutions were targeted.

We tested several approaches for large-scale detection, including analyzing web server fingerprints and HTTP artifacts. However, this proved challenging because Evilginx operates as a proxy between the victim’s browser and the legitimate login page, making its behavior and content nearly indistinguishable from the real site. In the end, we mostly relied on DNS for confirmation and classification.

A University of Oklahoma student was given a grade of zero on her psychology assignment, which was a reaction essay to assigned reading on gender roles in society. In her essay, she cited the Bible and referred to trans identities as "demonic." The student, Samantha Fulnecky, filed a religious discrimination complaint with the university, and Turning Point got involved.
