Last week, our sites and offices proudly raised the flag for MATES in Construction’s Fly the Flag Day. Coinciding with R U OK? Day and World Suicide Prevention Day, the day was a powerful reminder that physical safety is only half the job, and that mental health is just as critical. In construction, we pride ourselves on having each other's backs. But checking in shouldn't just happen on dedicated awareness days. Whether it's during a morning toolbox talk, over smoko, or at the end of a shift, taking a minute to ask "Are you okay?" and really listening, can save a life. A big thank you to our teams across our operations for standing together, starting the conversation, and continuing to look out for your mates.
