If I would have taken the cutting in the shape of a V then the original leaf wouldn’t look much different. Fun fact, once the tip of a snake plant leaf gets broken or cut it’ll no longer grow, but will instead put out energy to make a pup (new baby plant). This is a sanseveria Jaboa, not to be confused by whale fin like I originally bought it as 🤪 I was like “wow this is the fullest whale fin I’ve ever seen!” Anyway, this is an interesting process that definitely requires patience. Some people can get them to grow just by sticking them in soil, I’m not one of those people. At the end of the video the plant is ready to go into soil though! 📽houseplusplant #growfriend #snakeplant #houseplants #plantcare #gardeningtips #indoorplants #plantpropagation #plantlover #greenthumb #houseplantcommunity #plantsmakepeoplehappy #plantparent | GROWFRIEND 🌿 | Facebook

Hillary \\ Tello and Rose on Instagram: "This will save you money and the recipe will give you full beautiful ferns until the fall! All you need is a clean, sharp knife and a bag of Epsom salts. To cut the fern, separate them fronts as much as possible down the middle and do one clean, straight cut through. Place in a pot of good potting soil and keep moist for a few weeks. They will fill in quickly. . Here is the Epsom salt recipe you can use once a month on ferns and flowers, just water the root not the leaves so the salt doesn’t burn the foliage. 2 tbs Epsom salt 2 gallons warm water - Stir and water the roots. That’s it! This is great for indoor and outdoor ferns, tomatoes, roses and most other plants that are not tropical."

Skye Hamilton • Home & Garden • Hydrangea Queen on Instagram: "There is a sweet spot in early to mid Spring when you can divide your hostas for the optimal aesthetic. You can technically divide them at anytime, they are super hardy, but if you divide them after the leaf has unfurled, they definitely won’t look as nice, and will take a season to recover. You want to divide them just as the eye buds emerge, but before the leaves start to unfurl. Dig out the clump and it’s entirety leaving at least 6 inches on the outside. Using a garden knife or sharp spade cut into desired sections, being as careful as possible to not cut too much of the roots or damage an eye. You will inevitably lose a few, but don’t sweat it. They spread like crazy and you won’t even notice. I like around 12 to 16 eyes p

Just set it to the side. You've got your pot. If you don't have one of these things, just fill it with rock at the bottom. Now, pour in your potting soil. Don't fill it up too high. Just get a nice base there. So, see if you look inside. I didn't fill it all the way up. I just put that much there. Take your empty pot and set your empty pot right there in the middle like that. Now, take your dirt and just fill all the way around. You can just use your hand. You can also use a cup if you've got a tight squeeze around it. It makes less of a mess but fill it all the way up. Okay, that's close enough. Take your plant and then just break all of this loose. See all these extra roots? It's okay. Just break it loose. Mix it up because they pack these in pretty tight. You can add water in around here now if you want but I like to wait. You're going to take this out carefully lift it up and you've got a hole there. Now take your I like to use these. I've used them all. These are little fertilizer beads. Just put the fertilizer beads in the bottom there. Just drop them down in there. And then take your plants. Look there's a baby one girl in here. This is going to be great. It's going to end up filling this up. And then just put it right down into that hole. Look how easily that fits. And then you've got a perfect fit. And then just take one one more thing of soil. Now, this is moisture soil so it's good for this plant and just put it around. Okay, my cow lily is ready to go. This is a really good DIY at home weed killer. You just take white vinegar and add about a tablespoon of Dawn dish soap to it and then, add about a half cup of Epsom salt. The salt is optional but I think it really helps do it and what this does and then, shake it up and then, this does is you spray it directly onto the leaves of the weeds that you want to kill and that soaks into the pores. Don't do it on a rainy day. Don't do it on a cloudy day. Put it into a spray bottle. And then just spray it away. You are going to love this one. This is just rice water. Take the rice water. Pour it directly into your ice cube tray. Fill them all the way up. And then once you get this full or pop this into the freezer. Try not to get rice in there. These rice cubes strengthen the root system and prevent root rod. If you need to create fertilizer that's high in nitrogen which promotes growth throw in some soybeans or lentils into your warm water. Close it up and let it sit overnight. If your house plants are dusty and dull, simply take a banana peel, remove the banana, and then wipe each leaf with the inside of a banana peel. It gives them a natural oil and keeps them looking shiny. And then repeat when needed. Stop throwing away your apple peels. Instead add them to warm water. Let's sit overnight and use them for a nutrient rich plant fertilizer. Stop throwing away your banana peels once they start to go brown. Just peel the banana. You can use the banana for banana bread, banana pudding, whatever or you can just eat it. Take your peel. Leave the stalk on. Just put it into a mason jar and then fill it up to the top with warm a hot water and then you're going to put the lid on and then you're going to let it sit overnight and we've just made a potassium-filled plant fertilizer. Take it right out of the container and then cut it into three equal parts. You're going to hit some of the root system but that's okay. Just break the dirt loose so that you expose all the roots now and then just pull it apart. One section of basil two and then the third. So we've got three separate ones. Now take your three pots. One two, three because these have holes in the bottom. You want to plug those up. Now that we have our three separate stalks, take the excess dirt and just put the dirt right in on top. Fill it up as much as you can with that excess dirt and place your plant in and then just pack the dirt right around it. Give 'em just a touch of water on each one and then, watch how they grow in a week or two. Look how amazing my basil plant has grown. Guarding isn't as hard as you think it is. If I can do you can do this. Look at that.
