Perhaps the most common way of needlebinding a sweater.. one starts at the bottom hem, continues up to armpit level and there makes two loops at each side. These loops will serve as the beginning of the sleeves (that are later worked from the armpit and down to desired sleeve length), so they need to be large enough for the arms fit through and also allow enough motion freedom.
