Kiko with GOSH Gasoline

These are some nails from the vault! I am using 2 polishes I got while I was in London this past summer!

Used in this mani is Kiko 331. It is a gorgeous purple creme polish.  I applied 2 coats of this polish, no topcoat.  On par with every other Kiko polish I own, the formula is fantastic. Smooth and creamy and two coats covered all VNL.

I added an accent nail of Gosh Gasoline.  Gasoline is a pretty purple glass fleck/shimmer.

Rainbow Honey 20% Cooler

Today I have for you an Indie polish I have had my eye on for some time. I am not big into indie polishes, because I find that I can not afford the majority of them, and I am not a super huge fan of glitter bombs.  I have admired Rainbow Honey's polishes for quite some time, ever since I saw her cute labels and packaging, and I was able to get my hands on a mini in a swap I did a few weeks ago.  Everything about this polish is adorable.

Today's mani is China Glaze Electric Beat from the ElectroPop collection, followed by Rainbow Honey's 20% Cooler.  Electric Beat covered quite well in two coats, and is a gorgeous powder blue.  20% Cooler (on the accent nail) is a mix of rainbow glitter with some blue shimmer in the base. I am totally in love with this polish.  The brush was quite tiny in my mini bottle, which made it quite hard to apply polish, I have to admit.  If I were to order from Rainbow Honey I would definitely want the full size bottles, so that the brush is actually full sized. That's my only complaint. (In general though, I am not a fan of mini bottles, so nothing against Rainbow Honey)

Final thoughts: I would definitely purchase from Rainbow Honey, Her packaging is so cute, and the quality of the polish is very good from what I have tried in this mini bottle.

Dree and Wallis

Today's nails are Zoya Dree with an accent nail of Butter London Wallis. Dree is a great army green and Wallis is a perfect accent!

Dree took two coats for the photo, followed by one coat of topcoat.  Wallis also took 2 coats, but I applied it over 1 coat of Dree.

Bff Challenge: Coffee

I am super late on this post! Thursday's theme the Emma chose was Coffee! In general I am not a huge coffee fan unless I make it myself, because I feel like places like Starbucks just don't make it how I like for it to taste. I love me some french vanilla creamer! lol (the Baileys french vanilla creamer is the absolute best! and it has no alcohol, it is found with the coffee creamers!)

Anywho, here is the coffee mani! I used Kiko 344 as the base, and painted the  coffee cup with Sinful Snow me White, and the used Chian Glaze Mahogany magic for the coffee in the cup! I just used a thin nail art brush for the design.

BFF Challenge: Animal Print

Who doesn't love a good animal print? ;)  Kerrie chose todays theme, and I haven't posted animal print to my blog in a while, so I am excited!

For the base of this mani I used Zoya Minka, followed by dots of China Glaze Foie Gras, and the accent nail of Sinful Colors Snow me White.  I then finished off with acrylic paint for around the spots for the cheetah print, and the zebra print.  Some of my favorite freehand nail art has been Cheetah Print, and I really love using my nail art brush. i used the long haired brush, and it works great!

I think I forgot to put topcoat on, and you can definitely tell a difference, between topcoat and not! Topcoat makes it soooooooo much more shiny!

BFF Challenge: Book Cover

Book nail art! Today's theme was inspired by a book. And obviously I chose the Hunger Games! I think these turned out really well, and I am really happy with the result.

The base is Wet N Wild Black Creme.  The gold for the mocking jay is Orly Glitz, with accent of Kleancolor Metallic Mango.  Silver is China Glaze Jitterbug. I did all of this nail art with a set of nail art brushes.  And as always I finished off with a coat of HK Girl Topcoat.

And a photo of the book cover for reference. :)

I really love this mani!

Teal Tuesday: 3D Nail Art

For today's teal tuesday, the theme is 3D Nail Art! I think these came out pretty well. The accent nail did bug me, so this ended up coming off quite soon after I applied it. It wouldn't have lasted very long I'm afraid.

I did a basecoat of Zoya Bevin, and used some broken seashell looking things that I got in a pack at the Dollar Tree, similar to the seed beads.  I applied the little seashells to my nail trying to achieve a mosaic tile look, but it kind of failed to smooth out at all. I ended up just doing 1 coat of topcoat on top of the nails, but for the accent nail, I did 2 coats of Gelous, and 1 Coat of Seche Vite and 1 Coat of HK Girl TC, and it was just too much for the poor topcoat to handle, so it is still very ridgy, which you can see.  Also, the Accent nail didn't want to dry, so I just took photos, and the tc was still wet. (which I know is my fault for putting so many coats, but I felt it needed it. lol)

I just love Zoya Bevin so much. It is kind of more of a sea-foam green, but I wanted it to be teal, so lets pretend. ;)

Patriotic Nails

Yesterday was the Festival of Stars here in my hometown of Ninety Six, South Carolina.  There was a fireworks show and all, so of course I had to have a mani to go along with the Celebration!

I used China Glaze Frostbite as the base of all of the nails, followed by China Glaze Love Marilyn as the accent nail on the ring finger. To finish it off I put a matte top coat, using the NYC Matte top coat.

I actually like how simple this is.

Don't forget about my giveaway! It ends on July 15!

MIlitary Jacket

One of my favorite styles of clothing is Military jacket.  anything that has buttons on the front I am in love with. I pulled out my striping tape and thought about this mani with it.

I used China Glaze Westside Warrior as the base, then used striping for the lines, and Barielle Gelt Me to the Party for the buttons on the sides.

I like this mani alot. :)

Fish Egg Manicure

The Caviar Mani.  This has been around since Fashion Week of 2011 (Check the date of this link if you would like. or this one too)  And now Ciate is trying to claim the idea of "Caviar" nails/Manicure as their own.  This really bothers me, because it was not their idea, and now they are going to make money off of it.  They have even sent Cease and Desist letters to bloggers who show how to recreate the mani for cheaper than their $25 price tag.  There is alot of talk about this in the nail community, and I don't think that sending cease and desist letters to bloggers is really going to help their reputation. I know I certainly will not buy from them, even though now they will be sold at Sephora.  If you want to know more there are many, many bloggers talking about it recently, so if you just search for ciate caviar manicure cease and desist, plenty of blogs will come up.

Also, the price it cost me to do this manicure?  approximately 12 cents.  Yes. 12 CENTS. I will share more on that later.

The blue color is Zoya Skylar. The beads are from the Dollar tree!

OK, here is the good part.  The price of my manicure.  I got these adorable mini bottles of glitter and random things at the Dollar Tree.  The mini bottles were packaged together in sets of 8 for $1, which is why this cost me .12 cents. At the dollar tree they had a package of mini seed beads which i used for this manicure, and it had 8 different colors.  They also had misc. glitter, and shape glitter, and bar glitter, and crushed shells.  they are just enough to do one day's nail art, and I think they are a good deal because I don't really use glitter/seed beads that often anyway. And when I saw them I couldn't pass them up!  .12 cent or $25 for a temporary manicure? I will go with my dollar tree nail art. :)

Day 11: Creative Cacquer Challenge A Trend You Hate

One Nail trend that I just really don't like is Crackle.  I bought this OPI Silver Shatter when I was first getting into nail polish, and I thought it was cool.  It was cool, but now it is time for the crackle to go away.

This is just Wet N Wild Black Creme with OPI Silver Shatter over the ring finger.

What is your least favorite nail fad that you have seen(or even done before?)

Day 2 Creative Lacquer Challenge: Favourite Color

My all time favorite color is Chartreuse.  I just love the color. I love the name. The color is just vibrant and pops to me! So these are the nails I came up with for the Creative Lacquer Day 2 Challenge:

China Glaze - Electric Pineapple
Accent nail is freehand paisley with Sally Hansen Silver Sweep and Color Club Chelcea Girl

 I like it. :):)

And here is what appears when I google Chartreuse: lol

my nails look a but more yellow than these photos, but I do believe that it is a variation of Chartreuse.

I'm Blue...

I decided to use China glaze First Mate and Color Club Jingle Jangle.

First Mate is an amazing opaque blue creme.  It is a perfect navy blue.  I was very excited to find this on clearance at Ulta.

On top of First Mate I used Color Club's Jingle Jangle from the Beyond the Mistletoe Collection. I really love this glitter, When I applied it it wasn't lumpy at all like most glitters, I find that it has a very smooth finish.

Isn't a close up of that glitter lovely!

BONUS PICTURE TIME!!

It's Mr. Bingley again!! This time with his snazzy bow-tie. :)

Caitlyn's Earthy Trees

My friend Caitlyn came over today and I painted her nails, and I thought this was very appropriate.   These fit her personality so well! (and yes her name is the same as mine with a y)

I used China Glaze Westside Warrior with Borghese Espresso Brown as the tree on the accent nails.

Hope you enjoyed these!
