BFF Challenge: Black and White

Today's BFF Challenge is Black and White.  It was my day to choose again,  and I just love how black and white nails always turn out.  These came out amazingly, and I am super happy with them!

I used Sinful Colors Snow Me White as the base then I used a makeup sponge to sponge on Wet N Wild Black Creme.  I then used my salon express konad dupe stamp  to stamp on the lacy tips in Sinful Snow me White.  I absolutely love the way this looks!

And a closer photo with the Topcoat Bottle: HK Girl from Glisten and Glow.

I love love love the way these turned out!

Neon has that POW!

Today I decided to go NEON! I just really love neon polish. It just glows on my nails! I was feeling a bit uninspired yesterday, so I turned to my nail wheel for inspiration, and this is what happened! I really love the outcome.

This is 2 coats of Sinful Colors Snow Me White for the base so the neon shines super bright, and then 1 coat of Sinful Colors Neon Melon.  I added the nail art with my dotting tool and Wet N Wild Black Creme.

I just love Neon polish. I can't get enough!

Neon Swatch Wheel!

So if you have been following me on instagram(I'm Caitlinspolish if you want to follow me. :)), you got a sneak peek of this awesome swatch wheel I have been working on the past two days.  You can kind of see my train of thought for the wheel with my photos leading up to it. lol.

Lets start with the inspiration post.  I had on some neon shorts from the walk my mom and I did yesterday morning, and my sister had some highlighters and pencils in the door of the car, and I snapped a picture and posted it...

Then the instagram post of my haul from Sally's and Walgreens that day.  I bought my first swatch wheels for nail art at Sallys and I got the 3 neon Sinful Colors from Walgreens.  I am really loving these neons, and for $2 you can't beat them,  they were opaque in 2 coats.

Now onto the swatch wheel. I absolutely <3 this swatch wheel.   I used the 3 neon Sinful Colors Neon Melon, Summer Peach, and Pink.  I also used Acrylic paint, and some Wet N Wild Black Creme for the ones that I used striping tape on.

All of them are freehand. I am pretty proud of these, I have to say.

The names of the colors are Neon Melon, Summer Peach, and Pink, and they were all from the Sinful Colors Display.  I managed to snap a picture of the display before I left, in case you are curious.

I am pretty proud of these. <3 What do you think?

Phantom of the Opera Nails!

Ok, so ALL of my friends know that Phantom of the Opera is my ALL TIME favorite movie. (even my sweet 16 was phantom themed, and my puppy is named Raoul.) And this past summer my awesome boyfriend took me to see it on Broadway! :)

Today I have Phantom of the Opera nails. I thought they were needed since I got my Konad M73 yesterday! I have been dreaming about this manicure ever since I first saw the plate, and it doesn't disappoint. :)

I used Sinful Colors Snow Me White as the base.
Wet N Wild Black Creme as the music stamp and the black accent for the mask.
LA Colors Red Striper for the red rose.
Color Club Perfect Mol-Ten as the stem and leaves of the rose.

I absolutely love this. :) I Don't want to take it off!

New Stamping Plate M73

I would just like to say that my mom is also amazing. :)  She got me this awesome Konad plate, M73!  It is the one with musical notes on it and I am super excited to have this one now, because I have been dreaming about doing a Phantom of the Opera mani, and I am just so excited. :)

Here is the plate:

Here is my first time using the plate, How awesome is this? These are my sisters nails, because I wanted to use the new plate, and didn't want to take off my current polish, so she let me do it on hers. :)

I absolutely love this stamping plate, I don't think I can say that enough.

I used 2 coats of Sinful Colors Snow me White, and stamped on Wet N Wild Black Creme.  Then of course topped it off with Seche Vite.

LOVE IT!

The perfect White and Black

I found my perfect white and black.

My perfect black is Wet N Wild Ebony Hates Chris which I have used as a base in many of my nail tutorials. It coats in one perfect coat. I absolutely love it. I don't think I have stated how much I love it before, but it is my go-to black. I didn't use it in this post though, I just wanted to share that it is my favorite black.

My new favorite white is a white that I picked up on clearance at Rite Aid for 99 cents and it has not let me down.  My new favorite white, and also the white I have for you in todays Mani is Sinful Colors Snow Me White.  It covers perfectly in two coats(although I need to buff my ridges out. Its that time again lol)

I have found an amazing black to stamp with, Wet N Wild Black Creme.  I had read on a few other blogs that it was good for stamping, and I wanted to try it out myself.  I used an intricate lace stamp design, which I wasn't able to pick up with other colors, to see if this black really was the real deal, and lo and behold IT IS.  Who knew that you didn't have buy an expensive black polish to stamp with when Black Creme is only 99 cents and is amazing?

I will go ahead and show you this really cool mani. Hope you enjoy!

So in this mani I used Sinful Colors Snow me White and Wet N Wild Black Creme as the stamp, with a stamping plate that I got from the set at Rite Aid.

more fun with the stamper!

I really liked the Jelly finish of the Sinful Colors polish I had on, and I decided to experiment more with my stamper.  I also found an amazing polish that stamped, another Sinful Colors called Soul Mate.  It was from their Open Seas collection, which had a few dupes from the OPI Pirates of the Caribbean  collection.

I am actually getting used to the stamper now and these look pretty good I think!

This lace pattern was hard for me to get, but this polish was able to be picked up by the stamper amazingly! I was surprised.  and these two colors go well together I think. :)

How are your stamping adventures coming along?

Day 14 - Sinful Gogo Girl

For day 14 of the challenge I am wearing Sinful Colors Gogo Girl.  It is a red jelly which I am not too fond of because of it is soooooo shear.  This is 3 coats. You can't see the VNL because my nails are short and I buffed them before, but if they were longer you would definitely be able to tell.

On to the swatches!

First two swatches with flash.

Next two swatches without flash.

and a bonus picture!  I was playing around with my stamper again! I used China Glaze Concrete Catwalk for the stamper.  It wasn't as strong as I would have liked, but hey it did work better than some other colors I have tried.

Another bonus picture: NAKED NAILS! I never wear my nails nakey but I just wanted to go ahead an put this out there.

GLITTER BOMB!

Hi Guys!!

Ok, so I broke my No-Buy for two Sinful Colors... but they were only .99!  I bought a red one (because for some reason i dont have much plain red in my stash. idk?)  and this beauty right here.  Sinful Colors Savage. (warning! Messy Cuticles...)

Anywho... yes this is a beautiful matte turquoise... but I thought it needed a little extra oomph.  So I did what any polish-aholic would do and GLITTER BOMBED IT! Oh yeah.   WE shall see how long I can stand this chunky glitter...

This is two coats of SC Savage and then the tips are glitter bombed with Revlon Blue Mosaic. Me likey.

(In that creepy tv voice...) OhYeah.. !   Overall I like it.  I just don't like how chunky it is at the tips.  It makes it difficult to type...

And I have a surprise for you all today!

Without further ado...
Meet Mr. Bingley!

Mr. Bingley is my roommates kitty that we rescued from a shelter. He is a sweetheart and he decided to come and visit me up the stairs.  Isn't he precious!

Well I hope you enjoyed these nails, and a look at my little buddy. :)

Until next time,

XOX, Caitlin
